Likely huge rambling post ahead.

Upon opening my eyes everyday… what will this day bring? How hard will it be? Where will I be? What’s city? What county? What time will I get home? Will I run out of water? What challenges will I face? Will I cry? Will I sweat? Will I bleed? (Likely yes to the previous three lol). Remember to walk in kindness. Remember to do better than the day before. Remember those you meet may be going through something heartbreaking, make them smile. Or give them grace if they are cranky.

Which way is north? Never lose North.

What elements do I have to contend to?
(Heat, wind, rain, ice, fire, dust storms, earthquakes, traffic, covid).

Literal meaning of this compass, I’m your delivery driver. I’m the ninja that brings your boxes to your porch. It’s hard! Figurative meaning, we should always try to keep a moral compass, even when it’s hard. Life isn’t easy either. Tread lightly. Spread love.

Caysie and I get each other. We each march to our own drum. This is beyond a labor of love on both our parts. It took quite a bit of work for us both to get this exactly as we each envisioned. I adore working with her.

Specs. 4.7mm who knows what color/clarity diamond that’s been in my safe for 9 years. Caysie didn’t weigh it but guesses it’s in the .40-.50 carat range. We repurposed it from something I bought myself 23 years ago that I then upgraded to my Ering with, in what dissolved 10 years later. 32 1.5mm red Jedi spinel. Pendant is an inch, roughly the size of a quarter. 20 grams weight, 14k brushed yellow gold. 19 inch Victorian belcher chain , which I plated yellow gold. Don’t roast me for that. Also was going for a strong, androgynous design.

I adore Asian wood block prints. I sent clouds as a reference. Like “where’s the wind going to blow me today?” I tried to merge a bit of Victorian and zen. I think it worked.

Now to pictures!!!

*and when you see your delivery driver, please hand them a water ;)

This pendant is poetry!

I love all of the elements. (Pun intended.) I love all things earthly and celestial, this is just lovely.

May she guide you safely here on out.

Seriously, could I say it better? Nope, no, no I can't!

But hells yeah, it came together.:love::love::love::love:

Beautiful, I love it

“I think it worked”
You are incredibly modest or this is the understatement of the year.
This piece is wonderfully beautiful!

That cloud engraving tho

You just made me tear up, thank you. Being safe is a big deal to me.

We were trying to touch on being grounded (earth) and the skies. Oddly enough I wanted to be an astrophysicist when I was little, until I realized I was horrid at very advanced mathematics lol. I’m good with my telescopic in the back yard or just star gazing on my back.

There’s so many little tiny hidden elements. I was terrified at what I’ve heard referred to as frankenrings around here. I was 32 when I became a single mother. My sons bday is august (there’s 32 spinel). Can we merge Japanese art and a Victorian vibe? I literally am a delivery driver, is a compass crazy?! But a compass really means so much to me. I actually always know what way is north. I accidentally tested that with work a few months ago. I was needed suddenly 1000 miles away and didn’t get lost (without the need for gps on my phone).

This is one of the most beautiful pieces I've seen! I love this compass!

Wow, this looks like a treasure you would find in a beautiful mahogany and brass treasure chest in a shipwreck! Amazing! I love the vibe. And the execution is spot on. Congratulations !!

I think it did!!!!!! Thank you. I know you wanted to see the end result almost as much as I did :)

Yaaaaas!!!!! Thank you. We almost did wave engraving, I love the ocean. It’s honestly where I feel the most calm. But I’m also quirky enough I wanted to be a bit unexpected with clouds instead of nautical.

It’s beautiful, thoughtful…there’s something tender about the whole project. It’s palpable! Happy to have offered the compliment!

And I love that! I’ve always loved staring at the night skies. But sometimes things turn out differently for a reason!

I used to want to be a surgeon and I loved biology. Then I found out…I’m squeamish!

Oh.
Really really really beautiful.
The piece and the sentiments behind it.
You succeeded!!
 :appl:

@DorotheaBrooke and @mrs-b I need to thank you both for the huge pause and being thoughtful in my curation. I wanted to do this piece fervently to my toes. This absolutely was a go big or go home piece. But it’s my first in yellow gold. I need some gold hoops and a gold band. I do have a plan for a simple red spinel ring as well. But without your posts I wouldn’t have been thoughtful in a specific direction. Thank you.

I love everything about this… the symbolism, every design choice, the beauty it imparts, and the mystic vibe it embodies. Your “true north” is an absolute treasure… may it bring you every happiness!

I’ve been waiting for this post - and it’s absolutely wonderful! Congratulations- I hope you have smooth sailing ahead.

And with that? you'll always find your way..what a lovely inspirational piece! Wear it in great health and thank you for sharing :) I hope you have many great adventures with it by your side!

You're welcome. :wavey: Congratulations on creating, and not just acquiring.

This piece...oh!...this piece! It's a beauty, @Polished1911! I love all its meaning, but most of all, I love its sheer beauty. Congratulations!

It’s en route!!!! It will be here in a flash but I likely won’t get to take pictures until this weekend. I’m a little scared to take this bad boy to work I have coworkers that wear bling on the job, but I don’t. But if I can catch some early morning sunshine I’ll try Thursday morning.
