Likely huge rambling post ahead.
Upon opening my eyes everyday… what will this day bring? How hard will it be? Where will I be? What’s city? What county? What time will I get home? Will I run out of water? What challenges will I face? Will I cry? Will I sweat? Will I bleed? (Likely yes to the previous three lol). Remember to walk in kindness. Remember to do better than the day before. Remember those you meet may be going through something heartbreaking, make them smile. Or give them grace if they are cranky.
Which way is north? Never lose North.
What elements do I have to contend to?
(Heat, wind, rain, ice, fire, dust storms, earthquakes, traffic, covid).
Literal meaning of this compass, I’m your delivery driver. I’m the ninja that brings your boxes to your porch. It’s hard! Figurative meaning, we should always try to keep a moral compass, even when it’s hard. Life isn’t easy either. Tread lightly. Spread love.
Caysie and I get each other. We each march to our own drum. This is beyond a labor of love on both our parts. It took quite a bit of work for us both to get this exactly as we each envisioned. I adore working with her.
Specs. 4.7mm who knows what color/clarity diamond that’s been in my safe for 9 years. Caysie didn’t weigh it but guesses it’s in the .40-.50 carat range. We repurposed it from something I bought myself 23 years ago that I then upgraded to my Ering with, in what dissolved 10 years later. 32 1.5mm red Jedi spinel. Pendant is an inch, roughly the size of a quarter. 20 grams weight, 14k brushed yellow gold. 19 inch Victorian belcher chain , which I plated yellow gold. Don’t roast me for that. Also was going for a strong, androgynous design.
I adore Asian wood block prints. I sent clouds as a reference. Like “where’s the wind going to blow me today?” I tried to merge a bit of Victorian and zen. I think it worked.
Now to pictures!!!
*and when you see your delivery driver, please hand them a water
