Did anyone check out the season premiere of The Event the other night? I really liked it! My husband didn't like it when they kept changing time on him ("three months earlier," etc.), but other than that, we had no complaints.

I got the impression that there wll be some sort of supernatural elements to the show, based on the ending. That's not something I'm usually fond of but I think I'll really like the show. I can't wait to watch it next week.

What did you think?

I enjoyed Monday's episode quite a bit. I already like some of the characters a lot - Sean and the President (can't remember the character's name, but boy oh boy do I like Blair Underwood). The concept of the secret facility that Laura Innes's character oversees is intriguing, and I loved the sci-fi twist at the end of the episode. It's too early to tell whether these plot lines end up being over the top/cheesey or truly thought-provoking. I'm hoping it's the latter. I was a huge LOST fan, so I am hoping that tmightThe Event be able to fill my LOST void.

Blair Underwood's character is President Martinez, I think. Maybe I should have said "sci-fi" instead of supernatural earlier. Whichever it is, I hope it's not TOO over the top.

Neither my husband nor I have seen an episode of "Lost" and we wondered if "The Event" is NBC's equivalent to that show (although I know that show ended).

I really like Jason Ritter and the character he plays (Sean). One random question: Who is the little girl's mom? Is it Sean's girlfriend or her parents'?

This is definitely going to be exactly like Lost... you miss one episode and though pretty much no time passed, you've missed about 10 plot points. I actually got online this morning to find out if it was the same directors.

I only watched last night because I went to high school with one of the main characters. I'm not sure I'm sold on it yet. I'm not a huge fan of all the "time traveling". It's tough to follow.

It was really hard to follow with them going back and forth in time. But I figured it out, and quite enjoyed it. I'm interested in seeing more about the "secret lair" and will be following The Event at least for a bit until I make a final decision. I need a good Sunday night show

I missed the first 20 minutes or so and at first I had a hard time keeping up, but in the end I thought it was kinda fun.
I could live without the switching back and forth though. You really have to stay focused on the show. I am not usually that
focused. It may be one of those shows I record and watch later, so I can pause alot!

Luv2sparkle -- That's what we plan on doing also. We DVR our favorite (or new) shows and watch them the next night or over the weekend.
