Hi All:

Well, Whiteflash decided to take part in the Houston Bridal Extravaganza this past weekend. It is the largest Bridal Show in the country and we figured it would be interesting to partake. Well, there were THOUSANDS of brides, mothers of the bride, mothers of the groom, grooms, bridesmaids and even fathers! They moved around in "wedding parties". The brides came in all shapes and sizes and were carrying around bags of give aways! Some already had their engagement rings, others didn't. I have never seem so many vendors of wedding paraphenalia in my life....wedding gowns, music, orchestras, wedding cakes, limos, chocolate fountains, photography, wedding halls, preachers, vacations, ice sculptures, teeth whitening, groom training areas, fashion shows and just 6 jewelry stores!

Our booth was swamped! We were giving away a Whiteflash mouse pad and the brides could sign up to enter our grand prize drawing for a pair of A CUT ABOVE diamond earrings.

A few brides came over and said that they had heard about us from Pricescope! Even got to see some of the diamond rings that they had purchased through the various Pricescope vendors. Lots of fun but HARD work, and painful back and feet! Thought I'd post a few pictures....this one is of Debi our CEO (the little one) and LesleyH (the tall one)!!!

Many of us took turns staffing the booth. Debi, Brian the Cutter, Dimonbob, LesleyH, Denise, Judi, Vera and Dana. Our tech guys didn't want to be a part of it so we left them to play with their computers! We are convinced that they have electric circuits rather than veins in their heads!! Here's one of Judi (the little one), Dana (who oversees all the shipping at our processing center)and LesleyH.

We all wore diamond rings and earrings featuring A CUT ABOVE's and our Whiteflash design settings. Dimonbob was wearing his 14K yellow gold diamond loupe which was hanging off a 14K yellow gold chain. You should see the stuff that Bob has amassed over the years.

Here's one of Brian the Cutter and LesleyH.

Great pics, Lesley, thanks for posting them!

O.K. PQ - Here's one of Dimonbob sitting at his computer. In his youth he was in the marines on a submarine and we all LOVE his fabulous stories. I think Bob has been to more places than anyone I know!

I went to one bridal show when I got engaged, I figured it was the 'thing to do'. It was a small one locally and man was it an odd scenario. All sorts of drippy bride types (one of which I am not
2.gif
). I can only imagine what the huge Texas one was like. I went mostly to get information, so it was a great opportunity to pick up vendor names, pricing, etc. I did also find an excellent florist but we aren't getting married locally after all. Oh and the cake tastings and catering food tastings, that was so ODD. Walking around eating cake and appetizers. I guess I have been in technology with those types of events (e.g. I want a free mouse pad!) too long.

The funniest things were when you'd see a man doing the legwork and really getting into it instead of the bride! Greg could care less what I chose for anything, he'd marry me dressed up like chickens in the middle of a public fountain as long as I stayed under budget. Hee Hee.

Sure Mara - we'll mail you out a couple of mouse pads today. If anyone else wants one, please just e-mail us directly at [email protected] and we'll be sure to get one in the mail

Cool pix. That is an awesome ring, by the way. I've admired it many times on your site -- it's absolutely stunning as well as unique.

Great job! And what a lovely bunch you guys are!

Lesley,... That ring is just gorgeous!! DROOL Is it platinum? What are the specs on the center stone and the tcw of accents??!! The melee is beautiful! Like snowflakes sprinkled around on a crisp winter's morning.

And, save a mouse pad for ME!!!

And he is quite funny too !!!! We all keep each other pretty entertained all day. We have lots of fun together. It's not a job..it's like going to camp everyday.

A customer called me and asked if that's a picture of Bon Jovi behind me. And........YES it is. Bon Jovi is my fave.

I don't need a mouse pad. May I just have the ring please?

Geeze, the customer must have used a magnifying glass to spy Jon Bon Jovi!

I could barely tell it was a *person*!

*LOL*

I don't blame you, Denise, he's really cute, as well as being a great guy. He just funded a health Center in Red Bank for the disadvantaged to the tune of a few million.

Thats a damned good person in my book!

I'm with you, Win. I could see that the pic was a person, but to know it is Bon Jovi??? It's kewl when Stars give back!

Denise~ You have such beautiful coloring!! Wonderful skin tone!! Now can I try on the ring??!! The precious..... HeeHee

You know what would be realllly nice? If Denise could model that ring. I've been intrigued by the setting, but it's really hard to picture it live. In my opinion, a computer rendition probably doesn't do it justice. What do you guys think? Can we persuade her?

I got the mouse pad today and it's a stunner! I have already replaced my Gateway original one with this one and plan to take one to work too. Woo hoo. Eye candy at work. Can't beat that.

Thanks guys!

Lesley,

I just love that ring (I emailed you about it recently too). I swear it has been calling my name for a couple of months

That ring takes my breath away.

Thanks for all the pics. Great marketing idea. Nothing stays with people like a "give away". Brilliant idea about the mousepad - computer/diamonds. I love creative thinking. Your booth looks great & I love the fact that everyone is wearing black. Hip, chic & a great back drop for diamonds - doesn't take any focus away from it.

I remembered going to a couple of bridal fairs. Ended up using one vendor from the fair - but took tons of info & cards that I passed on to my friends.

Hey Lesley:

Do you know if this happens more than once a year? I'm so upset I missed the "extravaganza" as I live in H-Town and am getting married in Jan. '05!!
