and the topic came up. If you guys remember, I had sent him the MM fancy torchiere as the setting I wanted. Well he cannot afford that right now but we talked about it, and I told him that it was fine to get something else for now and then upgrade the setting for an anniversary or before the wedding. He fell for it

and basically said that he''ll do it "within a month."

I need to basically pick out the diamond for him though LOL!

lol for me being engaged isn''t all that much different, but i suppose being married will be with that whole moving and getting to see him everyday business. good thing he''s cute, otherwise the lack of personal space and alone time might get to me

So I was browsing WF last night after this convo and I think that I am really sold on the value of Js. So I''m thinking an ACA J. I would probably only want to go down to SI1. Based on the diamonds I had sent him the last time, the budget for the diamond right now looks good for about a .8 stone BUT he also said that he would accept any contributions from me so we could get a bigger diamond!

So I''m thinking, maybe about 1-1.1 carats.

Based on the diamonds I had sent him the last time, the budget for the diamond right now looks good for about a .8 stone BUT he also said that he would accept any contributions from me so we could get a bigger diamond!

So I''m thinking, maybe about 1-1.1 carats.

Agreed. Stepmom has a J and it is as white as my F in regular lighting. You see a faint yellow in dim lighting, like T said.

Hehe, isn''t he great lol! It took a lot of "but it''s all coming from the same place" for me to overcome his "but no, I want to get it." I finally convinced him that he could just upgrade to my Mark Morrell down the line on his own!

Hehe, isn't he great lol! It took a lot of 'but it's all coming from the same place' for me to overcome his 'but no, I want to get it.' I finally convinced him that he could just upgrade to my Mark Morrell down the line on his own!

That's a great compromise. I gave a little money to FI so I could upgrade on clarity, and he agreed that he'll purchase the dream setting on his own, along with the additional money to upgrade the diamond when we choose to do so in the future (We bought from WF, so we get that full purchase price credit when we upgrade the diamond
