I really think that mine may be a record for the longest search for a tennis bracelet in history. I have a five page thread about the start of my search to which anyone who wants a refresher may turn.

https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/tennis-bracelets.35180/

After the exhaustion of the first foray into the world of tennis bracelets and realizing that I could apparently not buy my bracelet setting already made, I took a long break from even thinking about a bracelet. Now I have started to think about the process again, but this time have started with the setting. I have approached a jeweler-my local jeweler-about making a setting by hand in platinum that resembles the Stuller setting that Wink was unable to obtain. My local jeweler told me of a place in Germany that makes these by hand and gave me an estimate. The idea would be that I could then buy stones from Wink in the certain knowledge that they would be set exactly as I wanted them set.

For practical purposes, this would have to be done in stages, I think. I have to see the German company's designs for the setting. I also have to start talking to Wink about stones again, even if I am not ready to take the plunge yet.

As always, I welcome advice!

It was broken, Chrono. I think I have fixed it. Thank you for pointing that out!

Hi Deb,
I haven''t been researching bracelets at all so I don''t have any suggestions off the top of my head. but, a couple of years have gone by since you started your search, is it possible that there might be something out there now that is ready made? If not, then I think contacting Wink and getting the ball rolling again is a great idea.

Ditto to all.

And let us know what you find out.

Deb, I just read through all 5 pages of that last thread. Whew!

Are you still thinking you want bezel set stones, or are you considering the martini setting (which seemed to be the most minimal in terms of metal)?

One question I had, upon reading the thread, which wasn''t asked then is this: the tradeshop mounting Wink sent you - yes the bezels were pretty big, but how much would that be diminished upon setting the stone? Obviously some of that has to secure the stone in place. Was it the top view or the side view of the metal that you didn''t like?

FireGoddess, you''re a heroine! That is way above and beyond the call of duty! Thank you!

Where I left off is wanting a setting like that in the Stuller bracelet. I think that the way that the stones are linked matters to me. I hate a lot of metal and although the way Wink set the stones in the other bracelet he made was gorgeous, I did not want the metal on mine attached twice. If the Stuller setting is not safe, however, I wouldn''t want to copy it! That is why I have asked for sketches of the design that the company in Germany is proposing.

I am hoping to get a delicate look with a sturdy design, which is what I was able to have when I eventually got the solitaire I wanted, the "invisible solitaire" about which some of you have heard :-).

This is the setting I asked Wink to find (and which he was unable to find), the Stuller. I would have loved to have this setting if it were capable of holding diamonds the size we had been discussing. I would have bought the bracelet for sale on-line for $18,000 had it been available, too! When Ana came across it, I think it had been a stray on sale on a lonely website with some other antique type odds and ends.

Does anyone know how this bracelet is constructed, how sturdy it is?
