Lately I have been feeling this very empty feeling in my left hand ... and often feel slight anxiety, like I have losy my e-ring, although I have never even had it.

Has anyone else experienced this ?
Perhaps I''m slightly obssessed!!

Heh, yep! That''s why I had 2 fakey promise rings from Claire''s in a year (that fell apart) and my fakey Walmart ering (given after engagement) prior to real ering. My left hand was very very lonely. I highly suggest a big honking Walmart Fakey McFakerton! Or at Claire''s they have celebrity ering replicas - I''ve seen Britney''s split-shank and Bennifer 1''s pink rock there.

Yeah.. I don''t know if I had experienced it myself.. but there was definitley another thread exactly like this awhile back.. SO it must be fairly common!

I have it all the time....I find myself rubbing my thumb against the back of my ring finger like there should be a band there...and it hits at the oddest times, standing in line at the store, riding the subway..."hey, shouldn''t a ring be there?" it''s like phantom limb syndrome

''hey, shouldn''t a ring be there?'' it''s like phantom limb syndrome

LMAO - that''s the funniest thing I''ve read today. Good analogy!

I kept (subconsciously) trying to spin and play with a nonexistent ring for months preceeding my engagement! It felt so odd. It was though my body was reminding my brain that it had waited long enough!

heh, well my bf likes to harass me and tell me that my finger looks awfully bare

but he has my ring now, so he''s not trying to be mean.. just tease me!

Before I was married and engaged, I used to have a similar feeling whenever I would pass a jewelry store! It was weird because that was the only time it would happen. I didn''t even WANT to be engaged yet or anything, but I must have really wanted a sparkly ring because whenever I was at the mall and went past a jewelry store, I was drawn to the display cases and ooohed and aaahed over the erings in the case. Then I would walk away and run my fingers from my right hand over my bare ring finger on my left hand while I shopped at the mall for the rest of the day. It was so weird. The funny thing is, I still do it!! Except now when I''m looking at the cases, after I walk away I spin my wedding rings and keep glancing down at them like " are they there? Ok, they are there! So pretty, so sparkly!! yea!" weird, I know......

LMAO!!!!!

I thought I was the only one and, also, thought I was off my ever lovin'' rocker. It is SO unlike me I can''t even begin to tell you. Not only am I not a jewelry person AT ALL (p-scope, as always, you''ve vexed me) ... I am also not 1) romantic & 2) bedazzled by the thought of marraige/engagement/weddings ... UNTIL NOW. Arguably it could be attributed to the fabulous fella that''s brought this whole situation about ... but it''s so strong I''ve had to refer to it as THE VORTEX.

I''ll confess to ... among other things ... finger staring ... finger rubbing ... swerving on the road due to finger staring ... and, gasp, DRAWING a ring on my finger. I''ve also been daydreaming about "ring-finger only liposuction" to whack this 10.5-10.75 mother down to human-size.

Thanks for sharing ... I feel better!

I don''t feel like I lost my ring, but I find myself staring at my naked finger and imagining how my e-ring will look on my hand. Also two people recently have me if I''m engaged (boys...typical they don''t think to look at the hand before asking that question), and I held up my hand for them and exclaimed "Its so big, I can''t stop looking at it. I need to wear my sunglasses becasuse its bling me!" They quickly pick up on the sarcasm.

I look at my finger sometimes and wonder what my ering will look like there also... but the running joke is how to do it. I wear a claddagh on my left ring finger that my grandmother gave me when I was about 13. Needless to say, it doesn''t come off now, so it wil be interesting.

Decodelighted: The Vortex...That is hilarious. I feel the same way. I was actually married for a short time before and I thought I would never do it again. Now all I can think about is marrying this wonderful guy and the damn ring that will finally make it official. I have definately been sucked into the VORTEX.
