First review of ID Jewelry.
They were - awesome, very responsive, no-pressure. Heck I don't know where to start with them, but lets just say I wouldn't buy from any other location. Absolutely everything was spot on and to the T. I was really, really worried about the setting so in the end I opted to get a basic setting to propose with - and have her get the setting she wants after we are engaged.
Next review of the Appraiser - Vincent Lash Vincent was great, I went to his home and had it appraised when the schedule was good for me. He's in the Maryland / Pennsylvania area. I feel he gave me a very accurate appraisal and I used it for my insurance.
Now the day.
I had planned for us to do an overnight in Washington D.C. My plan was to either do it by a spot of Cherry Blossoms or by the Reflection Pond. So we get down there, checked into the hotel and headed towards the Mall. At this time I had the Concierge place rose petals on the bed, and unbeknown to me she also put some champagne out for me too.
Meanwhile my fiancée was driving me nuts. She was worse than driving in DC rush hour traffic. Stop go, stop go - and me wanting to get down to the darn pond. so fast-forward an hour and half or so we finally get down to the pond, I get a woman to take pictures of us, headed back to where she was and started my speech.
Mind you there was about 20 people around and the area was not quiet at all, laughing, talking you name it. and as I started my proposal - about sentence number 2 it got dead silent. I mean you could have heard a pin drop as people realized what was happening - problem then was she started realizing what was happening too. - I flubbed my proposal, said the hell with it, took her hand dropped to a knee and asked her to marry me.
Had to ask again cause she was crying so much
and didn't answer.
And she said yes. - to the applause all around us.
Now of course she's noticed the quality of the diamond that she has. She was even telling me today that she saw another woman with a 4 carat diamond and how "not clear" it is. So in the end, after months of pulling my hair out; almost doubling my budget - I'm engaged to a wonderful woman.
Thank you Pricescope!
Final purchase: GIA Certified 1.01 CT Princess, E Color, Ideal Cut, VS1, EX Symmetry and Polish.
