Dear PSers,
I am angry. I am furious. I am irate. I am dejected. And I am in need of consolation.
I began a quest for a new setting for my pear shaped e-ring solitaire on January 8th, 2005. Today is March 18, 2005. There is no new ring. And there will be no new ring.
I started with a consultation with my jeweler (she owns the store, but does not do benchwork) and had to hand over my e-ring so the wax could be done with my stone. I gave her a collage of pics. I expected to see a wax. The design was a basic micopave/halo setting for the pear. Very Ritani-esque, but with several design modifications made by me that did significantly change the overall look.
I was never shown a wax, was simply told 3 weeks later that the ring was being made. I balked, but she said she would keep the ring if I didn't like it. A week and a half later, I got the ring. It wasn't what I wanted. I showed it to you all in a thread, found here:
https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/mixed-feelings-about-new-pear-setting-opinions.25036/=
I returned the ring 2 days later. Two days after that (they were closed) I went back with a second collage, very specifically documenting every detail down to mm sizes of the bands.
Two weeks later, my wax arrived at the store. It was incorrect in at least 4 ways that were not insignificant. I again pointed out everything that was wrong with the wax, several things which were already discussed before the wax was even made. It was a waste of time.
A week later, no new wax.
Another week later, no new wax.
I called and was told the wax would be there the next day. I later found out, after extracting the designer's phone number from the salesgirl, that this was not true...the wax hadn't even been redone. I was then told by the store owner that she had a "plan B"---a local designer who could do the ring well, and more quickly. I asked for a quote from him. (And inwardly screamed, "Why did we not START with this route???")
Another week goes by. No new wax. No local quote, either.

I call and 1. demand the new wax be there in a week, and 2. demand the local quote also be there in a week. If not, I want my stone, and money back. This gave them a total of more than 3 weeks to get another wax, and a simple quote done.
Well folks, today was the deadline. I got a call, about an hour before I was supposed to show up there, stalling because there was 1. NO wax, and 2. NO quote!!!!!!
I have demanded my stone, and my money back. This should happen next week (the stone was coming back with the wax that should have BEEN here today).
And so, I am irate, I am livid...and I am so freaking dejected. I have gone 2 months without my e-ring, 2 months of stress and annoyance, and now I have no ring, and possibly have to even replace the head on the original e-ring just to get my pear back into it.
