The design unfortunately does not go all the way around, and when I first wore it, it really bugged me to see such an intricate, delicate design on the top and a thick band of polished gold on the underside/palmside. Originally the band was the same width all around, but I had my jeweler taper the shank a bit in the back. I''ve gotten used to it now, and after a year of wear, the bottom of the shank is not so glaringly shiny.
