How excited are you about watching the 2025 Super Bowl?

Never watched any Super Bowl and never plan on it. I am not a fan of sports (organized big events on TV) and find it cultish like. I also abhor violence and find many sports to be too rough and harmful to those playing. Don't mean to offend anyone. Sharing my personal thoughts.

One of my closest friends is a sports fanatic and goes to every game in person (in the DC area). He is a Georgetown alum and acts as if every game is personal. It's nuts to me but OK we all have our thing. And that is his. But nope for me. And TG Greg can take or leave it and doesn't watch because I don't want to watch. He doesn't feel like he is missing out on anything. Because he isn't lol

I feel for all who are Super Bowl "widows"
That's a thing right?

But if you are a Super Bowl fan may your team win. I don't even know who's playing. Super Bowl is football right?

Not kidding

HI:

My boys like to watch it--and I'll watch some of it; but really I participle in making and eating nachos and wings--and buying Little Caesars stuffed crust pizza pizza. LOL. Sometimes the half time shows are entertaining.

cheers--Sharon

I don't generally watch it as I don't care about football (or really any sports) at all. I usually take the time when it's played to go to the grocery store, or some other store, as they tend to be empty then. If I happen to be home, sometimes it will be on in the background with the sound off and I may put the sound on when a commercial comes on as I do think they can be fun once in a while. But I never watch the actual game.

In days of youth, we alternated hosting or attending the neighborhood parties. I was kinda famous around the neighborhood for always winning the betting squares board (I donated the winnings, it was just for fun). One year I won every quarter and the whole night.

We're older and lazier, so I made chicken nachos and jalepeno poppers, and we'll be off and on dozing.

I have one $5 bet going on for spirit.

This one is special... GO CHIEFS!!!!
This year im falling for the bread and circus
lol
I just watch Chiefs games I dont care about the rest enough to watch them.

In Southern California the conventional wisdom was that the best day to go to Disneyland was Super Bowl Sunday.

I lived in the DC area when the (former, and unlamented) Redskins were in the Super Bowl. *Everything* closed. Grocery stores, gas stations. Good thing they won.

I hate football. It was forced down my throat my whole life, so it's personal for me!
I get to ignore it now.

I hate it, too. The only sport I like is Formula 1 and only in recent years when drivers walk away from their crashes.
I used to follow Thoroughbred racing but Eight Bells broke my heart.

My father was a football player in his youth, and a big fan. So I grew up watching games with him. When the Redskins were on their way to the Super Bowl, a coworker of mine was dating a guy with Redskins tickets. She was a widow and hadn't met anyone she liked for a long time.

Football fever was big, and they put up TV sets in our place of work so people wouldn't call in sick to watch the game. Plus nobody came in, all home watching, so it was very quiet. Anyway, I tutored her in the basics of football so she could enjoy her games with her beau, whom she married.

Now with what we know about the damage football can do to the players I can't enjoy it. But I do have fond memories of watching the Bears lose with my dad in the 1970s. (We didn't want them to lose, it's just that they always did.)

Although I have absolutely no interest now, I do also have fond memories of going to football games with my father. I grew up in Miami and he took me to a Superbowl (I think it was 1969) and Joe Namath was playing. Then in high school, the Dolphins were winning a lot so I cheered them on because everyone else did. That's probably the last time I even knew when the Super Bowl was, or who was in it (oh, that's not true, I live in New England so I guess I always knew when the Patriots were in it but never watched those games either. Just couldn't escape the brouhaha.)

The Pats were in the Super Bowl one year we were having our house painted. I was eager for them to win because the lead painter told me that the last time the Pats lost the Super Bowl, he stayed in bed for three days!

Thankfully they won that year, and our house got painted.

Well, if I ever hear they are in it again, I'll remember not to schedule any home improvements!

The Puppy Bowl was AWESOME!!!!! Kitties performed at halftime! :kiss2:

I rarely watch the game. I'm there for the commercials. This year is boring. I prefer college football.

@empliau The best day to go to Costco is Halloween night. I always go then and it's empty!

Is it over yet? Can I turn on the TV?

You can turn the TV on @Lookinagain. It was a boring game.

Brittany Mahomes wore a beautiful necklace.

I loved the Nike “So Win” and the Budweiser commercial.
