So Mike and I have been talking and we're thinking about what bands, prefereably matching, would pair well with my engagement ring?

He definately wants his own bling, so I was thinking channel setting all the way around for each of us, with his being slightly larger stones and more wh gold. Do you think that would look weird with my ring? Can you make any suggestions?

Lia

PS...I will try to upload photos ASAP but they are under "Pictures for PS Ladies" thread.

Skylark,
Take a look at www.thefacetscollection.com Many to choose from. I have bought from them and the quality is excellent and think a nice shared prong one would look great with your ering. There are commitment rings as well. Worth a look. BTW, I love your user name. My horse growing up was named skylark.

i''m the matchy-matchy type, so i would choose a shared prong to go with your ring, but i think a channel set ring would be great for mike.

I personally would not like a channel set with your setting, so I agree with Belle. I would try on a bunch of different ones with your ring now, and see what looks best. Good luck

I too would go with shared prong for your ring, and channel set for your fiance!

Definitely a matching shared prong band for you.
Mike can get a channel set band.
Just an idea, you guys can get plain matching platinum bands to wear when going for the more casual look, they are relatively inexpensive for the most part. That is what my FI and I will do, but in addition I am going to get a diamond band for myself...

To make it super easy, I''d have WF make you a matching shared prong wedding band. I also like Dani''s idea of matching platunum or even WG bands for a more casual look if you have to have matching wedding bands. But for you, the channel won''t look right with your ring. Mike can get a nice diamond channel set weddding band. There are many sites that have them. Good luck!!!

I would definitely have Whiteflash make the matching shared prong w- band for your ring, and while your at it, ask them about designing a band for Mike...

I agree, no channel band for your ER......shared prong!

I like Kaleigh''s idea to get a matching band from WF.

Mike''s band could "match" yours by having the same size/shape diamonds. Say a band with a row of diamonds in the center?

Very beautiful ring! I definately would do a matching band for you.

Mike can have his bling anyway he wants it! Chanel, flush ... I do like rings that have a thin line of diamonds either going down the middle or on one side near the edge. Has he told you what he likes? Maybe he''d like a big honkin'' one flush in the middle?

Good luck and let us know what you decide ... best wishes to you both!

ditto..definitely the shared prong matching band for your gorgeous e-ring..

I agree with everyone else! Go shared prong for yours and something more "manly" for your FI''s

I thought I should jump in here since we are talking about a ring for me too.

As I was making Lia's ring with WF I was a little worried about this problem coming up b/c she said to me that she wanted matching wedding bands - and I knew that I could not wear a shared prong band.

I like the idea of a matching shared prong band for Lia and a channel set band for me - they kind of match b/c they both have a row of RB diamonds of the same size (3 points).

What do you think Lia??

Mike

ETA: are 3 pointers the right size for me in a chanel set band?

I agree with the shared prong votes, considering that your e-ring band is the same style.

Thanks for all the input guys!

So shared prong seems the general concensus, so I think that''s where I''m headed - I definately like the channel look for Mike, masculine yet matching.

Is it customary for the diamonds to be the same size for the w-ring as the e-ring or could you go slightly larger? I am just afraid that the w-ring would look too thin as it doesn''t have a center stone.

What do you think?

I think you can go slightly larger, especially if you want to wear it alone sometimes. I wouldn''t go too much larger though. I know Mara''s wedding band has slightly bigger stones than her ering and it looks great.

I think a matching wedding band would be perfect your engagement ring (Just MHO).
