''Kay.... who is with me in feeling anxious as we get closer to the close of the year??


I know I''ve joked about telling my SO that I''m going to propose if he doesn''t pop the question by the end of the year.... but I haven''t uttered a peep. We''ve both been so stressed out at our workplaces, and we''re in an LDR, so it never felt quite appropriate to bring it up. Mostly we just keep repeating how much we miss each other, and how we both can''t wait til he moves back next April.


I''ve REALLY been hoping that he proposes by the end of the year, and he''s commented that he''s "working on it" as far as the ring goes... But whether that means SAVING UP for the ring, or actually picking one out....or paying it off for that matter.... I have no clue!!

I know I won''t die if he waits till he actually moves back to propose, but it''d be nice to be engaged BEFORE we move in together, and that way I can actually start planning a wedding for early 2009 without looking like a looney tune!

errrgh.... it''s coming, i know it is....but the WHEN of it is driving me batty...especially when I think how NICE it would be to have a rock on my finger to show off to the relatives at Xmas family parties.....

My BF has a ring but doesn''t want to propose until I''m done with grad school in May and get settled in a permanent job (we''re also in a LDR, for two years). However, he''s agreed to let me have a sneak peek "before the end of the year" - I''m hoping he means before the end of the calendar year! He let me pick out the setting I wanted, but he''s done everything else and it''s sitting somewhere very well hidden in his apartment. Not a day goes by I''m not thinking about it!!!

Im thrilled there are only 2 mos left. My proposal is coming before year''s end, so it''s not getting here quick enough! 9 Weeks and counting!

I have strong reason to believe that something is going to happen by Thanksgiving. I have no idea what he might have planned, whether he''s gotten a ring yet or what it would look like, though. The only ''direction'' I''ve given him is some pictures of the kinds of rings I like, and that I don''t care how he proposes, so long as it''s sincere and something we can remember together fondly.

I''m getting a little freaked out when I look at my calendar, though, and notice that it''s only 20 days until Thanksgiving now.

Well, I was keeping my fingers crossed it would happen while my SO was on his 5 week sabbatical. As of today there are 24 days left in this time period. Unless he is doing a superb job of fooling me, I do not think a proposal will happen within those 24 days. In fact, I’m not even confident it will happen by the end of the year.

He’s left me so in the dark about the entire thing. I don’t want to pester him about it because even if I asked every single right question, he wouldn’t give anything away. At first I enjoyed the idea that at any point during his 35 days off it could happen. Now it’s not as much fun.

If he hasn’t asked by the end of this year, I’ll have to sit him down and re-hash The Talk with him. That’s not how I want to start out my New Year so ladies, all the fairy dust you can spare can be sent this way please!

and honestly, it's more of a disappoint to me than a thrill that it is almost the end of the year. so even though i've been promised a proposal by years end, and i'm happy about that, i'm still a little more bummed than excited. sad, isn't it.

but that's just me, who desperately wanted to get engaged by the end of the summer for an early 2008 wedding.

I haven''t been promised anything LOL. Not sure if it''s some sort of womanly instincts or just getting my hopes up for no reason, but I am hoping something happens before the end of the year. In a way I want to broach the subject so I can see what his responses are - but I won''t because I don''t want to make it seem like I''m pestering him about it.

Who knows?! Maybe something is in the works. We''ll see. Lots of fairy dust to all of us LIWs!

*twiddles thumbs* I expect it to happen sooner rather than later. I''m sure it''ll happen by the New Year. I already told him he''d better do it soon, or I''d be forced to propose to HIM.

Meh...he''s good at keeping his word, so I''ll just get back to work and continue to twiddle those thumbs until the New Year. I''ll admit a little, eensy bit of impatience. The ring DOES look awfully nice with my wristwatch.

I can''t begin to tell you how anxious I am! I''ve been promised a proposal by years end, but I''m expecting it next weekend in SF or the weekend after for our surprise anniversary trip! The next weekend BF''s parents are coming into town for Thanksgiving and meeting my parents for the first time and hopefully we can all celebrate.
