Things just keep getting weirder with Jewelers mutual

About a month ago I posted about my saga with Jewelers mutual. Well on January 27th I received an approval for my policy, I called and paid the policy immediately and even enrolled in auto pay. Today I got a notification that states

"We appreciate your interest in Jewelers Mutual Insurance Company, SI a member of the Jewelers Mutual Group to insure your jewelry. Additional requirements related to your recent request were needed, but never received. As a result, we are unable to process your request at this time."

I absolutely sent them everything they asked for and even made payment. Has anyone had this happen? I have such a sour taste in my mouth dealing with them. Does this mean I was wearing my ring around for 3 weeks without insurance?

For reference this is the email I received on January 27th
"
Congratulations!

The jewelry insurance application submitted on 01/13/2022 has been reviewed and approved.

Please call us at 888-884-2424 to complete payment and begin coverage. Your coverage is not in effect until payment is made."

Uh, wow...that's all I have to say.

Hmmm....I too received an approval, but nothing since...not even a bill. I guess I'll have to call. I may look into other insurance companies. I hope you get everything sorted out soon.

THey're not open today, so unfortunately a call went nowhere, I emailed every person I corresponded with and will call back first thing on Monday.

honestly I am sure this is an error on their part, and everything is fine, but I think I'll look into Chubbs when my renewal comes due next year.

Call them again. I assume the message you got today was an error, but would double check

Yes, I assume too, but still doesn't feel great to get that. They're not open today so I emailed everyone I corresponded with and will call first thing on Monday

I completely understand. Very frustrating!!!

Depending on where you’re located Chubb may be an option. Chubb is my preference since they’ll cash out, no arguments about what is or isn’t “of like kind and quality”. They will still issue standalone valuable articles policies in certain cases (I believe this is based on both both location and a value threshold). It’s certainly worth calling a Chubb agent to find out if it’s an option.

yes, I think I am going to check them out. I am in Canada so it is an option. I liked JM because there's no middle name like Chubbs, but my experience with JM hasn't been great, haha

I had my diamonds and my daughter has her ER insured with JM, we are on autopay and haven't had any issue. Just received an email that are annual autopay was received.

So weird (and unprofessional). Hope you get it cleared up today.

This was the response I got today, it seems all is ok.
Thank you for reaching out. I apologize for our error. I have fixed the error in our system and your policy has been issued effective 1/27/2022. You will find a copy of your declaration attached to this email. There will also be a copy available in your online portal at jewelersmutual.com within the next 24 hours.

I apologize again for any frustration this has caused. Please let us know if you have any further questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

I just thought I would add my experience to this thread in case it helps anyone. NB I am in Canada. I got quotes from JM and Chubb and my home insurance to cover Lizzie aka my 50th birthday present. Only Chubb would bind the ring before it was in my hands (so throughout transit and the ride home and such). They also were willing to do so with a screen grab from the jeweler with an approximate appraisal value, where JM required a full appraisal be done first. Chubb was also about 30% less than JM, and about the same cost as my home insurance rider, but of course, their claim service is much better.
