BF told me that he had to get up early and go to work on Sunday because he had a "business meeting". He often works weekends so that wasn't a big deal by itself.

BUT, saturday night he starts asking me "How long does it take you to get to my parents' house on the train?" I tell him about half an hour. I get suspicious so I ask him why he wants to know and he tells me "Oh I just wonder because you haven't gone to visit them in a while, maybe you should."

I'm not completely satisfied with his answer but I let it go. Then 10 minutes later he asks me by what time do my parents wake up in the mornings usually.

He leaves Sunday morning before I'm up but as he kiss me good bye he tells me to wish him luck on his "business proposal"

He comes back home in the afternoon, says his "meeting" went well. We go out to dinner that night and he starts asking me about whether in my culture it's supposed to be a big deal for the father when his daughter get married..... (I'm an only child and definitely my daddy's girl so you better believe is a HUGE deal for him.)

PLUS..... if you all remember the receipt I found on BF's desk from the jewelry store... this all starts to look very suspicious does it not?

WHOOPS.... I meant to say that he was asked me how long it takes ME to get to MY parents' house (not how long it take me to get to his parents). But I think you guys got that.

Snickerdoodle : I am an obsessive manicure-er (is that a word?) LOL. Chipped nail polish is a BIG pet peeve of mine. Although somehow I feel BF might manage to catch me on the one day when I have ugly chipped nails.

Oh the shame! I better start being extra vigilant.

Ooo, some dust for you!

OooooOOOoooOOOOOOooooohhh!!

His "business meeting" DEFINITELY sounds suspicious! I think that boy is up to something! And I think it''s something sparkly!! Yay!

Thanks for the dust ladies.

I called my mom after the weekend and tried to be a real detective without actually asking her if he had come by. No luck. My sleuthing skills are seriously lacking.

On a different note:

I was cruelly subjected to my first proposal fake-out last night. We were getting ready to go out and I was in the hallway getting a jacket. He came over and kept grabbing my hand and looking at it, which only kept bugging me because I needed that hand to get out my jacket. When I asked him what the heck he was doing, he got down on his knee. I looked at him incredulously..... and then he started laughing his butt off!

And then he kicked a puppy!

Okay, he didn''t. But it seems just as mean.

He then got up and asked if I would be pissed if he had actually proposed randomly in the middle of our hallway. All I could do was smack him on the head and tell him that what WOULD piss me off is repeated proposal fake-outs (hilarious as men seem to find them).

Ohhhhhhhh he is lucky that you have a good sense of humor!

I would have started to cry right then and there and I can only imagine how awkward that would have been for my guy

That''s terrible and seriously not funny

YAY! I''d say the "real" question is coming up soon!

And my bf does something similar to the fake-out proposal. He''ll start saying something about being married some day and I''ll reply with "You''ve got to ask me first." And he''ll just say "Wanna get married?" UGH! I usually just give him a little slap. I''d say he does this at least a few times a week.

Ah, men.....

I know you were joking but that made me laugh. I agree, it was JUST AS MEAN. I dont know how you didnt push him over. I would have. and then i would have had my "attack" puppy get him. hmm. if only the shih tzu bit harder!

Iowa: I sincerely hope this fake out does not turn into a trend. I can have a sense of humor about it once but he''s SOL after that.

Jcarly: LOL. I didn''t push him over but I did slap him on his arm. What I should have done is secretly made his lunch for the next day extra extra extra spicy.
