I'm about to do a yoga class, but will be back in an hour to throw up some photos. Looking for interest at this point, but will post prices. I'm guessing most regulars here know my sparkly doo-dad. My gypsy ring is on my Boadicea the Valiant thread. The earrings are medium sized Elsa Peretti 18kt open heart hoops, and the other pair are 1 1/4" hoops - also 18kt.

Back in a bit. And if anyone is already interested in any of these things, my contact details are on Loupe Troop.

Hehe I love the doodad! That was such a great project! I’ll keep my eyes peeled for a listing :)

Love the doo dad too. Would make a great pendant.

(... you're killing me mrs-b ... your ACA pair has been calling my name, and now the gypsy ring? ... if only my piggy bank was filled with solid gold bricks ...)

Sparkly doo-dad has 1.8ctw of old cut diamonds set into a gold disk. Hand engraving on the back. Antique muff chain forms the bracelet. - $1800

Gypsy ring has a LOT of platinum in it. FSI2 (uncerted - bought from Ivy and Rose), approx .7ct. Was originally .77ct, as I recall, but was tidied up by DKJ's diamond cutter and is now .7ct. The sides are 8 points and 9 points, D and E color, respectively - both AVR melee, back from the day when you were able to buy AVR melee. Size 6.25 - easily resizable. $2800

Vintage Tiffany earrings - these are real collector pieces. 1.25". Here they are being sold online:

Here's another pair - but with replaced butterfly clasps (the original ones are 18kt). Mine are fully in tact.

I don't have the paperwork or the original packaging, but I chose them and they were bought from Tiffany in Pasadena, CA.

Price: $750

I hear you, @marymm! My jewelry box, while full of wonderful things, is also full of things I'm just not wearing. I *used* to wear more, but since being ill for so long, I just want what's familiar and easy. I'm keeping all the big things and all the casual things. But the things in the middle - I'm letting go.

Hmmm. I just checked the original thread on the sparkly doo-dad and it says it has 1.58ctw of old cuts in it. So I'm going to go with that, as it's more likely to be correct, having been written closer to when it was made. So....

CORRECTION: THE SPARKLY DOO-DAD HOLDS 1.58CTW OF OLD CUTS, NOT 1.8CTW OF OLD CUTS.

My apologies for getting this wrong. Consequently, I'm dropping the price to $1700.

@MakingTheGrade - just a heads up that this will probably be the doo-dad's only listing.

Here's the link for the thread on PS. Pls be aware that the early photos are not how it's set now. It's set as per the photos posted above. The thread is mainly to give a sense of proportion.

Sent an email re: doo-dad!

Hi @elizat -

I've responded to one email, but that's the only one I've seen. Did you email me through LoupeTroop or directly to my gmail acct? If you contacted me through LT, you might want to try the gmail method.

Maybe I should just save my money for whenever you declutter so I don’t have to go through the trouble of making things look nice on my own haha ;)

Thanks for sharing your treasures with us!!

@pearaffair -

I think this will be my last de-clutter. It's time to call a halt to both acquiring and de-cluttering and I'm just about exactly where I want to be.

Ack. Just seeing this now after my shift lol. Sent you an email in case elizat passes :)

Also can I ask what the length of the bracelet is and what kind of closure? I have a 6in wrist so may need to shorten it..

The sparkly doo-dad is SOLD.

Gypsy ring and Tiffany hoops still available.

Can I be backup to the doo-dad please?

Hi @amti :))

The doo-dad has already been mailed, so if you were to ever purchase it, it would be from @MakingTheGrade, not me. And, to be honest, I already know of someone who has said they'd like it as well.

That little doo-dad is unique, and a darling little thing. I'm sorry you missed it.

ETA You culd always do what I did and purchase random little diamonds as you saw them become available and make one of your own. It takes time, but it's easy.

Omg, @mrs-b , I just had a thought (because add me to the list that LOVE that sparkly doo-dad). You know how people draw up construction plans for tables and such? (Supply list, then assembly). Imagine a PS guide to assembling various jewelry pieces yourself. Like your doo-dad. Supply list: various diamonds, sizes xxx to xxx....

Remind us who made the doo-dad? Was it DK? I have a cobblestone necklace pendant that is with modern rounds, and I cannot get over how much I love it. It’s a versatile and wearable style. Single stone sells bracelet charms like that but they are prohibitively priced.

Hi @Tonks! :wavey:

I've thought about going into the jewelry design business in the past, and I've had a number of offers. But, frankly, I'm too busy and I don't want to become a professional member of the trade and lose the ability to post in PS at will. I like sharing my things here. So I stay an enthusiastic amateur and anything I do, I do for friends and for free.

On the other hand, my contact details are on LT, and I'm more than happy to help people make their own little Sparkly Doo-dad if they wanted, tho I'm not sure how much help "Stick any leftover diamonds into the metal of your choice, then mount it on a chain" is going to be!.

But now, let's get to the real cruxof your post....

You have your OWN sparkly doo-dad? And we HAVEN'T SEEN IT?? Oh girrrrrrl! Get out the camera pls! I've thought about doing one in RBs a bunch of times and would LOVE to see it! Is there a thread? Because there jolly well should be!

Photos please?

And yes, it was DKJ who made the S-D. I spoke to Amy yesterday. Her voice sort of dropped and she said "You SOLD it?? But...but! It came out PERFECTLY!" And it did, too. And I suspect another PSer is going to enjoy all that hard work, which will make me very happy. :))

Oh, @mrs-b you make me laugh!!!

My suggestion was really in jest—I was thinking of how many of your pieces are so stellar that people would really like to replicate them down to the last millimeter. I imagine that Amy was surprised you were selling the doo-dad. Glad it is staying in the PS family, though!

Yes, I have a sparkly doo-dad. I got it for Mother’s Day last year as a surprise from my husband, and no, it does not have a thread. I’m a terrible PSer.

We are on vacation at the moment and I’m honestly not sure whether I brought it as I haven’t been wearing a ton of jewelry this week...I think I may have, though. I will look later today and if it is here, I will snap some shots. It is one of those pieces I didn’t know if I would wear, but wow, I wear it ALL THE DANG TIME.

I am SUPER excited to see the sparkly doodad!! And the chain! Recently got obsessed with antique chains so this sounded exactly up my alley!

Thanks for your response @mrs-b . You sure do move fast! :D I hope @MakingTheGrade keeps me in mind when she decides to sell. I honestly don't have the patience or the funds to make my own doo-dad. I will keep an eye out in case you post any other neat things (I know you said you probably won't but a girl can hope, right?) or in case the doo-dad makes another appearance in the next few years. :D

Although I'm not in the market for this specific gypsy three-stone ring, I can vouch for both @mrs-b as seller and the wearability of this ring style. I do have a couple of original deco gypsy rings in platinum -- the platinum has a heft that sits well on the finger and does not move/spin on me. A gypsy ring can be a workhorse, with smooth, comfortable contours and a classic look lending itself to either casual or dressy occasions IMO. It's a nice piece worthy of finding a home.
