Yes or no please?
The ring has a purple/ blue color change 2 ct unheated sapphire in it. It's beautiful but I feel like I want to do something else with that stone. So I'm thinking of setting a new stone in the setting. It's a fantasy cut unheated Montana Sapphire. I kind of feel like the lighter stone looks better against the gold.
The top pic is what the ring looks like now. The bottom is the stone I'm considering swapping in it.

While looking at the first photo, I thought, "What could possibly look better?" Then I saw the second! WOW! That Montana is stunning!!!

Bottom stone is definitely a much bigger wow! WOW!

Go for it, it fits the celestial theme perfectly 8-)

Yes, do it! The starburst stone suits the circular theme perfectly. And the paler colour goes well with white metal.

I'm thinking that the purple sapphire might look better in yellow gold. Of course, everyone has their own preferences.

Like @PinkAndBlueBling , saw the first pic - thought, NICE
Saw the second pic - WOW

The modern type cut lends itself very well to a fantasy setting. Warp speed meets celestial moon.

I like the combination of the lighter stone with the same setting too!

My concern would be whether it is doable, as the setting is a semi-bezel, and the semi-bezel extends beyond the diameter of the stone.

Also, whether the setting is deep enough for the new stone, in case it is cut deeper than the original.

DK :))

Yes.

Go for it, lighter stone looks amazing in the setting!

this was my exact same thought lolllll. I would definitely do it as long as the price for swapping out stones isn't an issue.

That is an amazing stone and I love it in that setting!:kiss2:

Thx everyone who took the time to reply. I'm 99% sure I'll swap it. haven't seen teh Montana Sapphire but I bought it awhile back and its at Gia for a report. I questioned if it might look oversaturated in the pics but the video is very comparable from the seller. It was $1100 I think which seemed like a good price for an unheated sapphire in that cut. Other one was much much more lol. I'm actually thinking of setting the other one in a pendant with stones around it in a half halo, we'll see. If not I'll do another ring.

David Klass did hte first setting and the stone is the exact same diameter 6.8 mm and 5.something mm high... the depth of the new one is 2.8 mm deep b/c hte fantasy cut ones dont need to be very deep at all; they're actually cut real shallow. I may see if he can shorten the height on some of hte prongs b/c I prefer a lower height.
Well see. He said he could reset it so I'll send it to him soon.

Totally agree. Swap them out.

Love the swap!! Go for it

Gorgeous!! It will be a beautiful swap!
