I had posted recently that I was getting an E 1.27 I1 in this setting.
I changed my mind and got a smaller stone with better clarity:

Specs:
6.46 - 6.51 x 4.02 mm
F
SI2 (EYECLEAN- YAY!!)
table 56.1%
Depth 61.9%
crown 35.0 degrees
pavilion 40.7 degrees
faceted girdle 1.4% to 3.9%

So this is the ring (here the stone is still loose).
It will be ready for me on Thursday. I am so glad I went back and got an eyeclean stone.
I know it would have bothered me eventually and I would have been right back at the upgrade party in a year or so.
This way I should be able to last a little longer!!

Here is the side view. That is not my diamond in the previous picture, but the way.
I''ll have more pics soon.
The best part is how good this new ring looks with my wedding band.
They look like they were made to go together.

Yes, it really does look great. - I mean THANK YOU!
I think there is a size gal inside me that's gonna come out, but not just yet.

The new stone is AGS Ideal 0
Light performance 0
Proportion Factors 0
Finish 0
Polish Ideal
Symmetry Ideal

Is that what is meant by an AGS triple 0?
It sure looks good.

looks awsome congrats!!!!!

How far down in ct weight did you go with the SI2?

Oh I left that off, huh-
I went down a quarter carat.

The new stone is 1.047

It seems you made a good choice. Some people like to see their inclusions - like little diamond birthmarks. If you''re not one of those people, at first you tend to think you can deal with seeing an inclusion, but it slowly drives you crazy. It happened to Woobug. I thankfully knew I was that type of person so I had eye clean stones...first an SI1, and then a VS2 stone.

Yeah, I already know I will do more upgrades in the future and I know I''ll move up in clarity and color.
I''d love a D vs2 and I doubt I''ll ever go much past 1.25 carats or so.

The salesman mentioned, "oh you''re into the rarity, huh" and really, I just see the stuff.
I look at the stone and I see what''s there.
So I am glad I didn''t get talked into size at this point.

Now that I''m more into diamonds, if I were starting over I think I''d get an amazing half carat and put it in a Tiffany Etoile type setting.
Maybe I do like the rarity, too.
ahhhh
me happy....

Well.... that''s not it after all.

I actually woke up at 1:30 am last Thursday (the ring was supposed to be ready by 6pm that day) and all I could think about was that I did not really want to relinquish my engagement ring for sentimental reasons.
It just didn''t sit right with me.

So, as soon as the store opened at 10am, I called and asked, "is the diamond set yet?" Answer "no".
I asked them to hold off.

My salesman was out on vacation and he told me to see Kim if I needed anything while he was gone.

Well..... I think I like working with Kim better than the guy, because Kim seems to "get it".

I told her, OK I am keeping my original setting, but I really, really want a D and I want a really clean SI1 and I want it to be around 6.6 mm or so.
No Problemo!
Kim is going to bring in some stones and we''ll take a little look see.

So it''s all for the best.

The guy was certainly very helpful and quick but he kept telling me, "No one can tell if it''s a D, don''t spend for that!"
Nice guy, but doesn''t get my DOCD.(Diamond obsessive compulsive disorder!)

Can''t wait to see the finished project.
