Hi everyone! A while ago I promised that I would buy a digital camera and post more photos of my engagement ring. I am now finally equipped to keep my promise. In the meantime, I have unfortunately noticed a few imperfections in my setting that bother me. As some of you may remember, I am a little dramatic and quick to complain at times, so I was hoping to get a clearheaded opinion about whether I should consider resetting my diamond. A new setting seems an indulgence now that my fiance and I have wedding expenses coming up, but I feel it would be nice to have a setting I truly love when we get married.

Here are some hand images of my ring:

Another one.

This is a side shot of my ring. Some metal is "leaking" from under the prong on the right.

On the other side, a similar problem.

From the top, the prongs look a little uneven. Also the diamond is not set symetrically - you can tell by looking at the table, as the sides of the octogon are not parallel with the setting.

Honestly... you''re being a bit dramatic. However, your jeweler can get rid of the leakage of metal and turn the diamond so the arrows are symmetrical, so there''s no need for a brand new setting. But before you obsess anymore, PLEASE clean your diamond!!! (i''m just dying to reach in and scrub it!)

I don''t think you''re being dramatic but little imperfections like that drive me nuts, I know I have issues

. Anyway, I agree with fortekitty that the jeweler should be able to fix those things and you won''t need a whole new setting. I also agree, you need to give your diamond a good scrubbin''
