Hello!

I just got my ring back from David Klass and wondering if the prongs could be any thinner? I had seen this style from Ring Concierge years ago and fell in love with how thin they are

Would that be possible or would it be unsafe for the center stone? Thank you 105124_GoldDiamond.jpegIMG_2781.png

Because of how far they hang out from the ring I dont see them getting any smaller.

So they couldn’t be thinner from top?

Why don't you ask David or Amy what they think? If for security reasons, they don't feel that they should be thinner, they will tell you. If they think it will be okay, they will do it. They are very accommodating. However I think some may feel that thinner prongs could post a risk. So maybe they could just be trimmed to hug the stone more, but not be thinner? I think @mrs-b posted a prong tweak like this recently or suggested it to someone. I think I found the thread that she responded to.

I think they are already thin over the top relative to the size of the stone and the overhang beyond the pongs.
The overhang gives a leverage disadvantage to the prongs.

Also you’re comparing a much larger diamond. The ratio of prong to diamond will make those prongs look much smaller.

I’ve looked at their instagram all have this design even smaller diamonds

I sent them a email I will update with their response

I just got my DK custom setting. When I looked at my glamour shots I was worried and thought the prongs and tips were too thick, but when it arrived, and I looked at them with my eyes (not zoomed in) they were perfect! In-person, at normal vision, they aren't nearly as big as they seem zoomed in. Claw prongs are my favorite but as much as I love the look, I don't think I'd get them because I always wear my ring and worry about them getting caught on everything.

When I see it on your finger they don't seem overpowering, or even large. All that being said - it's YOUR dream ring and YOU should be happy! Hope there is a conclusion that suits your vision and your lifestyle. Keep us posted

You and many many others! Her designs are impossibly thin, she markets her designs that way. Unless you are a hand model, they are destined for trouble.

I think your prongs are beautiful and proportional to your stone. You want structural integrity. I hope you love it when you see it irl!
