Thoughts on these matching diamonds - buy or wait?

Would love your expert eyes on these two matching diamonds - they are the only matching set that are under $5k and close to 1.5tcw while still be good specs (I believe). One is slightly larger than the other but WF told me it won’t be visible to the naked eye.

I also mentioned I wanted martini 3 prong but don’t want them going into my piercing. They suggested I get the martini 4 prong. Any one have experience with this setting? Does it look old fashion or I like a princess cut which I used to like but now hate.

I think they look very nice together. You should not be able to tell the size difference. They're just too close.

Did you ask WF for a picture of them side by side and face down? That's what I would ask for. Post them here.
If they check out ok then I think you'd be good to go.

Edit...Because its Whiteflash you can always easily upgrade.

Thank you! I just asked them for this so hopefully will be able to include tomorrow. Do the ASET images and what not all look good?

Yes, the ASET and Idealscope images look good! I just want to check on the color difference between the I/J. I dont
think it will be an issue but best to get the side-by-side pics and be sure before ordering.

I had these exact settings and don’t think they looked old fashioned or squared off. I had the petite claw prongs. I wound up switching them because I thought they were too flat to my ear, but that’s the way martinis are supposed to be. Here’s a pic. IMG_3418.png

Here are the images. The one def looks slightly bigger and the one also has a tint of color from the side but price scope said it isn’t noticeable from looking straight on. These are for a special birthday of mine so I want them to be perfect and not rush a purchase. Am I better off waiting until they have two matching stones that are exactly the same size or am I only seeing the difference because it is so close up in the images?

They look great. Did you find them going in your hole or stretching it out. I personally hate the side view of Diamond baskets which is why I think I love the look a of a martini. What size are your diamonds? They are stunning!

I didn’t find them to stretch the piercings! Those were about 1 carat each. I had them only for a bit and exchanged for a bit bigger and one color grade higher and got low profile baskets that don’t look like baskets - I normally hate those too!

I would be fine with that pair from size point. Finding the exact same dimensions is not going to be easy and you won't notice any size difference as earrings. There is some color difference, so if that bothers you, then I'd wait, but not because of the size difference.

I love the eight prong martini settings, they work for me and sit flat on my ears, but that's me....

Thank you for your response. Do you think think the color difference will be noticeable? To me I don’t notice much a difference but also I’m not an expert nor as knowledgable as most of the people on this wonderful board.

I'm not color sensitive and since these diamonds won't be sitting next to each other, I doubt I'd notice any difference and since they are ACA's they should sparkle plenty. Others may think differently but I think they would work for me since cut, size and budget all work.

These pictures are hugely blown up...at regular viewing distance, I think it would be hard to tell. Same goes for color.

I think the only real way to know is to see them in person. We can all say that they would work for us and *should* work
for you...but it all depends on your sensitivities.

I have a similar pair from BGD. You I will love them.

Thanks! I have decided to get them. Now I just need to decide on which 3 prong martini setting from white flash!

Their older version which is more rounded or newer version that is straight?
Which is more likely to be more comfortable, prevent dropping, show less metal and not make my piercing hole bigger?

Planning on getting the mini claws for the prongs themselves.

the only thing I can offer regarding the settings is to make sure that your piercings go straight back, from front to back. One of mine is slightly slanted down and a 3 prong martini just doesn't sit exactly right on that ear. Settings with more rounded bottoms work best for me because of this.

I have studs from WF in their 3-prong original (rounded) martini and I highly recommend. I think 3 prongs accentuates the fact they are round. To me 4 prongs on any round in any type of setting gives the stone a more square-ish look. And I do feel the 3-prong is the modern look. You said you don’t want it to go into the piercing so for sure I would suggest not to go for their straight basket version as those will settle into the ear more so I’m not sure why they suggested that.
Prior to my WF studs I had a couple other pairs of studs in 3-prong martinis with the straight style and they sunk in. I was used to that so when I received my WF ones in the curve version it through me off as they did not sink in which is what I think you are saying you want. You don’t see metal on the sides in the way you do with a basket mounting. Also, I don’t recommend the petite claws. Claws in general can catch things easier. And they won’t look consistent with the gauge of the rest of the mounting, especially if you go with the curved (the straight seem a tad narrower but I still vote against claws). Claws IMO just don’t flow. When on my ears only the fantastic ACA cut performance is what is noticed. For reference mine are 90-some-pointers each, VS, E color. Keep
In mind these mounting photos are blown up. Actually, I think you will notice the claw but maybe you want that seen??? I just feel like when someone looks at a piece of jewelry, regardless it be earrings, a ring, or pendant, I don’t want people to think “nice prongs”… I want them to think “nice diamond”. I don’t want them to notice anything BUT the diamond!!!
