Hello All - Recently joined and have been reading various threads on 60/60 diamonds. I was curious what everyone's thoughts were on this diamond. Most of the 60/60's discussed, at least from what I was able to dig up, didn't have a crown angle of 31.5. There was one comment about a 60/60 with similar dimensions and I think the guy said something along the lines about not buying a flat, bottom heavy diamond.

It seems like consensus is that the 31.5 crown angle is too shallow?

I ran this diamond through the HCA and got a 1.2... GIA triple ex, no fluorescence, color G vvs2, 9.3x9.32-5.44

Anyways curious about everyone's thoughts. Thank you in advance.

Hello and welcome to PriceScope, scrubscrub!
60/60 can be tricky to get right...do you have a link to a video or (if it's on hold/reserve) the grading report number)?

Definitely need pictures/videos....aset or idealscope images would be great!

I Have this still - I've asked to see if I can get an ASET or Ideal Scope image

Looks to have potential!
ASET or Ideal-Scope would definitely give conclusive proof.

I would not buy a diamond where the table is greater than the depth. Also I do not think the large table reflection is visually attractive. The low crown height is going to create an unattractive profile.

Well, not the traditional look that we recommend but I* kind of like the look. It reminds me of a traditional or early round
brilliant. I like the thicker looking arrows (even though they are 75%).

So the behavior of this type of stone would tend toward less fire and more brightness. So it really depends on what you are looking
for. If this is your first stone and for an engagement ring, I would probably go more with the traditional numbers.

Yup, agreed.

I don't feel like I could tell from one still image, I would prefer to see a video. While the still looks better than I would have thought, I personally would be too afraid to buy it, and would recommend you make sure there's an iron tight refund policy in case you don't like it in person.

Agreed wholeheartedly
