Thoughts on this diamond? Thx!

Hi Diamond Experts,

Could you guys give me your thoughts on this diamond? I like that the spread is big, but I’m worried if that will affect the way it sparkles. I tried running it through the HCA tool and the score wasn’t that great, a 6.1. I was quoted $38,000 for this diamond.

I would be concerned with an SI1 stone and clouds not shown in the characteristics. It could have issues there.

Do you have any images or pictures of this diamond? As the HCA score indicates, it is not a well cut stone. The depth and pavilion angle are both too deep for starters.

You don't want this one...the concerns are about the types of inclusions/flaws to why it was given the SI1 and the proportions are rather horrible - the optics are going to be pretty underwhelming in every lighting condition:

Thank you all for your helpful input. All of your input made me do my own online search. Ideally I would like to find something $40k and under (but am willing to pay a little more if the diamond is amazing).

These two caught my eye:

Price ~$42k, Wire Price ~$41k; HCA Score 1.1




Price: $36,770; HCA Score: 1.1



A few questions:
1. What are your general thoughts on both diamonds? Anything about either one that might concern you?
2. I know they are different color grades, but I have heard G and H are pretty close. Between these two, do you think the $36k one is a better value or is the $41k significant better to warrant the price difference?
3. If my price limit is around $40k (can pay a lil more if it's really amazing), do you think these two diamonds are good picks? Or do you think I could find something better (not sure if looking for a HCA 1.1 score is overdoing it)? Overall my goal is to get a diamond as big (specifically dimension wise) as I can for my price range without sacrificing any sparkle and within the range of D-H, FL-VS2.

Unfortunately, the 2.82 appears to have some issues with the optics: there's some seemingly heavier contrast under the table and paddling (darkening of the upper bezel facets) around the crown.
In this case, the ACA will blow the doors right off of the 2.83, in my humble opinion.

get a metric rule and measure the distance between 8.8 and 9 mm. Then compare the two diamonds.

The 2.82 has lots of issues, I definitely wouldn't recommend it

I would pick the 2.55 from WF all day over the 2.82
