Does it seem to have a brownish tint?

I definitely see brown but I think it’s beautiful! I always prefer a brown tint over yellow.

Thanks! I don’t know much about emerald cuts but I’m intrigued by this one! Im inspired by some bezeled EC I’ve seen lately. Let me see if I can post some pix.

Here’s a screenshot of a CVB design. Can’t remember who posted it here
on PS? I just love it.

Thoughts on something similar in rose gold and/or platinum with the brown tint emerald cut diamond?

I like the tint but for me, I would set it in rose gold or yellow. I have a brown tinted asscher (more tint that the one you're interested in) in a toi et moi and I put the asscher in rose, while the rest of the ring is in white. It makes the brown tint look a bit pinkish I think. Here's a photo,

@Lookinagain yes I see what you mean. I like that pinkish effect!
I’ve been eyeing this particular stone for a couple of months now. I Meanwhile the price has gone up at least $200! :/
I have it on hold…trying to decide if I should order it just to take a look and see what I think of the tint in person.

I think you should since you've been eyeing it for quite a while. You may, or may not, see as much of the tint in person, but you will only know if you like it or not be seeing it. And returns should be fairly easy if it doesn't work for you.

@Lookinagain i’m curious is your ring 14 or 18 kt rose gold ?

I’m going to maybe go against the grain.

There are a range of browns, some are cool-toned, some warm, some neutral.

This leans slightly cool, but I actually think it could look great in yellow gold. But I recommend you order it and see it IRL. If you have any gold, white, or rose colored jewelry, hold it next to the stone and see where it looks best! I suspect that platinum will wash the brown out, so if your goal is for it to look whiter, that’s the route I’d play with.

These are more tinted, but here are some examples..different hues (some lean yellow, some more “pinkish”)

@Cerulean
If I order I will do that!
You’re right it does seem “cool”

I have been imagining it in rose gold bezel with platinum band. Had not considered yellow gold but I am open!

I’ll post a couple more inspos in a bit.

I think rose gold could look fabulous too! Honestly brown tones like this can look great in multiple colors. Usually tho platinum alone washes brown out

I’m having trouble resizing and posting pix!
Anyway, the one above is a fav but I would reverse the metals to a Rose gold head with platinum band.

I have a small .40 M color diamond that I had set in a bezel. It has a brown undertone. It appears much whiter than I expected without a yellow tone. It’s not bright white but just white..I have it set in white gold. I stack it with bands on my right hand. I love it..

Very nice

it's 14k

I have these K colored mrbs noted as faint brown on the certificate if this helps. Clearly much less tinted than my Asccher, but you may see a bit more color in a larger step cut.

@Cerulean thanks for your input!
When you say washes brown out do you mean that would be ideal if I were wanting the stone to look whiter? Or washes out in a blah way.
Or , that it would be better idea to enhance or complement the brown tint in a yellow gold setting.
I extended the hold on the stone for a couple more days while I think about it!

Washes out as in reduces the perception of tint

However I think it varies based on the stone and that you’ll really need to see it next to different metals. You can even buy cheap tester rings that are plated to give you an idea

If you’ve had it on hold for this long, I think you’ll regret not buying it to see it in person! My advice is to try and see how you like it
