Thoughts on this fluorescent Diamond

I have purchased a Diamond and I’m waiting for it to arrive to inspect it. I’m 50-50 on whether or not I will keep it. The certificate is IGI and the specs just seem too good for the price. It’s listed as H, VS2, 4.01, excellent cut. I bought it for around 34,500. Once I get it, I’m planning on sending it up to GIA to see how they grade it. If it’s significantly lower, then I will return it. But in the meantime, I am stressing over this, and would love to hear your thoughts. Hopefully the link below works. The diamond is highly fluorescent, which I know impacts the color grading and potentially could cause milkiness, etc. Just general thoughts on whether this was a good find or whether it’s too good to be true would be great. Thank you!

Do you have the pavilion angle?

From the video, the stone does not look like a GIA H. Also, I love fluoro, but Strong Fluoro can be tricky. What is the return policy? What if it comes back a GIA J?

Here's a comp of a J color with Strong Fluoro:

Hi- the only info I have is what is listed on the report. I think I took screenshots of it so I’ll try to attach it here. Return policy is 30 days from receipt. I’m really on the fence with this one. Obviously I have to see it in person but I appreciate any thoughts and advice I can get from this community as well.IMG_5511.png

Cut has potential, but I'm looking at side by side videos of the J that I sent you and tbh your "H" looks warmer-not sure if this is a difference in lighting.

If the stone is a J or warmer it's not really a deal. Also, it will cost you time and money to get a GIA cert.

I’m so glad you mentioned this. When I do research online and drop the specs to SI1 and a J, I get prices that are equivalent, or maybe even still slightly higher than what I paid for this stone. So essentially, would you say that that would be market value?

Also, the J that you sent me looks like it might be a better stone! Finding the right Diamond is a lot harder than I thought it would be.

Seems very close to market value

There are some really talented prosumers on PS that can help you find the best stone for your money! @DejaWiz @lovedogs do you have time to help?

Ok that would be great. Are you one of them?

I am looking for a 4-5 carat, J (or better), eye clean regardless of grade, excellent cut $35k top budget. If you or anyone you know could help me find this it would be great…

Round or Oval… :-)

There are definitely more talented folk with modern cuts. I usually stick in the antique cut realm.

I did a little more searching and that J comp that I posted looks pretty darn good! I mean same issue with the fluoro-it has to be seen irl-but the stone is GIA certed.

Ovals are a whole other animal with the bowtie issue…

I think the J looks good too. But I want to at least see the one i already bought before buying another .

Actually I love the idea of a large Old European but I know they are usually in the lower color range. But with some florescence, they seem to face white. At least some of them. I saw a stone from early 1900’s that was really quite nice, but it was way overpriced. But I love the history and romance of an old stone. If you have anything on hand that you think might fit the bill, Except for the color, feel free to let me know.

J/K/L color old cuts all trade at a premium versus modern cuts. Sometimes you can get lucky with an M color like I did with my first OEC. I'll let you know if anything pops up!
