Thoughts on this neon blue tourmaline?

I recently purchased this tourmaline with the agreement that if the AGL does not find it as described by the vendor that I can return it. This is the listing: https://www.litnon.com/index.php?page=viewgem&id=11474 The tourmaline arrived and it is like a little luminous droplet of water. It is extraordinarily clear and crystal and has me wondering what would be an appropriate setting. I can see through the entire gem! I have never seen a paraiba this clean. Is paraiba still the technical term for this gem or for the location? Would this be better as a pendant or a ring? What kind of basket?
Please share your thoughts on the gem and any ideas on setting. Forgive my iphone pictures. I was unable to take direct pictures due to the gem's glow it would cause my iphone to lose focus. The first two pictures are in natural indirect light while the last is in incandescent light in the late evening.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge and advice.

What a gorgeous colour and indeed amazingly clear. You are doing well to send it to AGL, so you can determine if you paid the right price.

I do see a window. Not sure if it’s a tilt window. If the colour is exceptional, I am ok with a window but some might be bothered by it.

@SparkliesLuver and @elle_71125 have their gorgeous Paraibas set in double halo’s. You could use Paraiba melee for one of the halos. Have you looked in the Paraiba thread for inspiration?

I would set it in a ring as you can admire it more.

Paraiba can be that clean and that color. My guess was that it was old stock Brazilian. I clicked on your link. I think it’s a fair price, despite a possible tilt window. Two thousand a carat for under a carat for this clarity, color and locale is typical.

I forgot to say, that your paraiba is really lovely!!

I’ve seen very clean Paraiba but they are fewer these days.

Thank you for your response Acinom. I will definitely go back through the paraiba thread and pay more attention to the settings this time. Your suggestion for a double halo sounds like a great idea. I really appreciate you taking the time to respond since I think you have some of the loveliest rings on the forum.

Thank you chatoyancy. Your words are going a long way to reassure me that it is paraba. Now to wait for the AGL report. I will be the first to admit that I know little about tourmaline. Spinel is really my interest and I actually went on the site to drool over the Tajisktan spinel.
PS. What did you do with that intense cobalt spinel that you picked up a while ago?

Thank you for the kind words bluegemz.

Chrono thank you for the reassurance. I have seen three paraiba and they were all more included than this gem and the glow was primarily where the inclusions were.

I’m really not an expert, but I think your stone is gorgeous! It’s really glowing! I would like to own a stone like that once in the future!

If it were mine, i would like to see it whole day long, so I would set it as a ring. Maybe in a diamond halo, but I’m a halo girl, so that’s just me.

Fantastic color and clarity. Oh that swimming pool blue is tdf. :appl:

It's a very pretty little gem!! =)2 The clarity is truly exceptional.

Since you said that you've sent it to AGL: I've noticed that AGL reports on Paraiba like tourmaline sometimes mention clarity enhancement in addition to heat treatment. Is that something that would bother you?

dkata thank you for the halo suggestion. My pear ring is my first and onlly halo that I have ever owned. What do you plan to do with your lovely new zircon?

ChanterelleJ, you bring up a point that has concerned me. I have another paraiba that is more included and untreated. I prefer this gem because it glows all over instead of in just the included areas like my other gem. If it is treated then maybe that is to be expected in my price range.

Mukti, thank you. This is only my second blue gem. Most of my gems are shades of purple.

Gemobsessed thank you for the compliment. I have enjoyed seeing your tourmaline posts. They have inspired me to learn more about tourmaline.

Tourmaline, thank you for the kind words.

Oh good. I’m glad I did. Litnon is on the recommended vendor’s list.
I never had that spinel tested. It wasn’t worth it for what I paid, but unfortunately, I don’t think it’s real. I’ve mentioned it other threads that I think the vendor was honest, and thought he was selling a real spinel. It just looks off in indoor lighting. It’s a shame. I did purchase two blue spinels that are real about a month ago, so now I’m happy.

That Tajikistan spinel is gorgeous. I bought a much smaller one from another site and am happy with it.

Enjoy your paraiba! When are you supposed to get your report from them?

chatoyancy I should receive the tourmaline back in about a month. I sent a gem last month and it was a solid three week wait then plus the shipping time. Glad to hear that you have two blue spinel that you like. Did you post your Tajikstan spinel on a thread? I would love to see it.

That’s a long wait, but it will be so cool to find out about your gem!I did post the Tajikistan spinel somewhere. I think it was that thread where you just post whatever. I just tried to find it, but couldn’t. Not to hijack your thread, but here it is again. I bought it from WSFgens. He still has another one, but it’s smaller than mine. Mine is 1.47 carats.

@chatoyancy that color is luscious! You have a gorgeous spinel. I will look forward to seeing how you set it.
