Is this from Old World Diamonds?
I own a q/r, as well as an o/p, as well as lower, but it's up to your own preference.
That facet pattern and that outline shape and that size-
I wouldn’t care what color it was - HA!
but yeah - ‘too warm’ is pretty subjective and tastes vary
Yes! How do you like your QR vs OP? Do you mind sharing pics? Thank you!!
Sure.
Adam has an excellent eye. I loved it when he posted it. I think it would be a winner. Finding an OMC, let alone a good OMC, is getting hard. OEC is easier.
Color comparison.
Inside, shaded. All GIA.
Left to right.
M in 18kt yellow, o-p in platinum (this stone is the larger at 3.09 but a halo is a push up bra), q/r in platinum bezel frame, and q/r in 22kt yellow.
Inside, near a window, cloudy.
Outside, overcast, no direct sun this afternoon.
Comparing the two q/r. The OEC is warmer. Not just because of the metal. It is just a warmer stone.
All together.
This is hilarious!M in 18kt yellow, o-p in platinum (this stone is the larger at 3.09 but a halo is a push up bra), q/r in platinum bezel frame, and q/r in 22kt yellow.
I LOVE this. The faceting is so good and the yummy shape.
There’s no right or wrong regarding color. It’s personal preference.
Thanks, @missy. I so wish I can just see this is person to decide. That have a good 10 day “review the stone” policy though.

Thank you so much, @elizat. Your rings are all GORGEOUS!! Must be hard to decide what ring to wear for the day.
On another note, I have a small OEC I’m having DK set for 3 stone. I was planning on bezel setting but had second thoughts as it may impact the stone’s performance and affect the sparkles especially it’s a small stone. I am loving your 3 stone bezel and making me rethink about it instead of prong setting. But, your stones are much bigger of course. Also, do you think the bezel setting like yours would be more appropriate for an old cut rather than prong settings?
Thanks so much!!
I love your stone and setting in your avatar. What color is it? Thanks, @maryjane04I love this OMC when I saw OWD posted it. The colour doesn't bother me at all, but I am partial to old cuts having some colour. The cut is amazing and what a beautiful gorgeous looking stone. You won't go wrong but only you will know what your tolerance to colour is - especially going from a modern cut.
@elizat, Thanks so much for al the valuable info. Do you have a sample photo of the faux bezel? Thanks.
Here are some. CvB does a good job with the style. Most of these prongs would be so tiny in real life you really wouldn't see them. On some of them they are more exaggerated because that's what the person wanted, but there are a lot that would blend, especially with diamond with white metal.

Also, I can’t quite see the plot clearly. I know feathers may affect the stone’s integrity, right? Thanks.

Thank you, @elizat. Are these settings open on the bottom? DK showed an open bottom for bezel setting.
Aww thank you!! It's an M coloured OMC. My setting is actually a faux bezel with prongs
Thank you all so much! After much thought, I think a Q may be too warm for me. I think if I’m going for an old cut, it would either be a just a little color or a lot of color like maybe a W, X, Y, Z? Not really sure so would be good to see them IRL. Hopefully, when covid is better controlled, I can visit his shop to see what would be perfect in my eyes.
If anyone is interested, Adam quoted me $19,900 and I feel that that is a great price for this carat weight and VVS2 clarity. I hope PS’ers snaps this up.
You are welcome!
I think that makes sense. It's a good amount of money to spend, and you need to see what you like with your eyes. There is a lot of variation even within the grading ranges, but I think that it's best to go look at things in person and see what you like. Old stones are tricky. My two q/r stones are very different. At times, the o/p looks close to the M in the right lighting.
For myself, the highest I go in color for an old cut is a K.
You have a good plan in place, I think!
