Pros: I like the color and it is much cheaper than a Pad.
Great size 9mm length, 2.67ct

Cons: no idea what it would look like against my skin or IRL for that matter.
Returns are probably impossible as seller is in China
The first 3 Shots are screenshots from a video. I can't seem to save his video

Spinel or sapphire?

Love it! Can't give any advise, commenting only on color, some sellers would call it Pad for sure.

A spinel, I'm assuming?

I quite like the color; it's pretty nice.

If you're not sure how the stone will look against your skin, surrounding it with lots of sparkly diamonds will do the trick, I think. Here's my 8x6mm spinel in an Ivy and Rose setting. I had the same reservations of how it'd look against my skin, and I think framing it with diamonds takes this worry away.

Oh shoot sorry yes Spinel.

I asked about chips, as someone had issues with this before. And inclusions. I keep asking for other lighting photos and am told it is consistent. Does this ring true for Spinels? Mine are notorious color shifters but they are less expensive.

I only found a few posts about this vendor, any idea if there is any room to negotiate on price?

I like it!

I am hoping for a Pad colored stone and I think this is close but I am rubbish at reading photos.

I have no exp in reading his pics. so take this with grain of salt.
If it turns out more mauve than ‘mock pad’ would you still love it even if it didn’t scratch the pad itch?
I think that’s key in deciding on pulling the trigger on a stone you know you probably can’t return.

I’m still learning...if the colour turns out to be like above when without scintillation, would you still be happy with it?

You cinched it for me. I wouldn't be happy. And I can picture that color very clearly.

That I could live with, but a more mauve which is what I think it will tend towards would disappoint me

Thank you everyone. As much as I love the price of these overseas stones I think I have to see them in person.

...plus all the usual caveats about buying for color based solely on cell phone videos. I would bet my house it will be less attractive in person.

Maybe ask for a few "real" photos face-up in controlled lighting, and next to a gold standard...

Rolling-it-around-in-my-fingers-under-the-equatorial-sun seems to have replaced the staged photo on IG.

My thoughts as well. I asked quite a few times for other photos in specific conditions and he kept saying the stone looks the same in all light...uh your own photos don't even bely that.
