trying to help future SIL buy ring for my D.
went to jamesallen...

she wants a yellow band so I've read a K with an excellent cut would be good bang for the buck? his budget is $2500
this stone is $1800 0which allows for a pave setting he likes... [just under $2500 total]..
Thoughts?

Can you put it on hold and provide the link?

We usually say to stick with GIA/AGS because other labs can grade much looser.

didn't notice that..sorry haven't been on site in awhile...
here's a .81 stone that is GIA slightly more expensive

You need to post the GIA reports too (you have to ask JA for them).

Here is one from the search engine that has a good HCA score since we don't have the GIA reports to look at.

will the daughter be happy with a K color - creamy instead of icy white?

If your DD and SIL ever consider upgrading in the future, I would recommend going with a diamond from Whiteflash. They'll have one of the best cut diamonds they can get for his budget, and a very flexible upgrade policy.

This one looks amazing, for example.

That K SI stone looks to have good potential from a cut perspective looking at the photo/video (tbc after seeing cert details). However, it looks really quite tinted. Wonder if this could be because IGI is generous with color rating compared with GIA/AGS. Although the stone @tyty333 posted is also a K, it looks less tinted and is AGS rated, so I believe this is a better option IMO.

With the $2500 budget, I would focus it on the center stone and consider getting a plain six prong (secure and gives nice rounded look) gold band instead of pave. With pave bands, the melees are often F/G and may be too much contrast against a J/K center.

If she is likely to upgrade down the track, I would suggest using BGD (upgrade two aspect out of size, color or cut) or WF (spend $1 more) because of the better upgrade policy and best of the best cut. JA requires double the original spend.

Currently BGD has a 10% off diamond + setting offer using code "BLKWEEK211".

This stone might be worth asking BDG for photos/videos:

In this setting will be within budget post discount (pay by bank wire):

Here is another setting option in case she prefers a yellow gold head:

There is also this I VS2 on BGD in case you want to consider a better color grade:

Again you can request photo/video. The AGS cert is dated from only a few days ago.

Are either the purchaser or the intended open to a man made diamond?

If so, that $2500 budget could go far.
