Hi everyone, :wavey:

So doing my usual cruising and drooling over bling and a new vendor has popped up on Etsy- MasterCuttingArt.
They seem to have some interesting stones and custom cuts.
They very much look like new kids on the block making a go of it.
Thoughts anyone?

So if you scroll down and look at the one review of the shop you can see what the stones look like comparitively in real life

I think maybe get them to take some pics across multiple lightings as stones shift so much and their photography lighting is pretty bright. Also watch the cutting on the crown -- I've temporarily forgotten the name for it but it's often done on included stones to minimize the inclusions appearances.

Mmmm remember now -- many of their stones have a checkerboard cut crown. Definitely be watching for that one as itll change the optics.

Oh that is really useful @qubitasaurus. I was a little unsure of the cutting and am still learning about how cuts affect stone performance etc. I was really tempted by one of their malaya garnets!

Ooh Mmm yeah I dont think I'd go for that with this vendor. Malaya garnets are master colour shifters. They'll turn up even browner in more adverse lighting settings, in all probability.

I think I'd be watching precisiongems page if I wanted such a garnet. If it cant be a gorgeous colour in all lighting then I'd be hoping it was at least a sparkle bomb.

Another thought you might like caratgems. They have pretty high variability of photos to actual appearance. But you can find more data on here about them. They have lots of transactions as well -- so I assume you'll be able to get a feeling for the photography from other people's experiences.

@qubitasaurus Thanks for the tip. =)2 Are caratgems on ebay/etsy? Can't seem to find them.

Looks special and interesting. Im always looking for harmony in gems. A gem should resting in itself. So then they touch me in a way that I feel pleasant. Those gems are wilde and not enough peaceful for my personal taste but looks fancy and of great passion for quality and details.

Sorry that would be my fault for being in too much of a hurry while grocery shopping

And one of the threads about their stones

@Lexililac Hi :wavey: I really appreciate your thoughts! They do look interesting don't they? A d I know they are new but j guess all businesses need to start somewhere right?

@qubitasaurus Thanks for that! Will take a look! :mrgreen2:

Thanks! Yes they indeed look interesting. When it came to taste there is never a right or wrong and it never should be judging. You see it allover, some people go crazy for a crowded heavy metal concert and other prefer to stay at home on a very comfty couch and listen Classic Music or Pink Floyd. Some love dogs and find cats boring and some get nervous if there is a dog around. Im definitely the cat person and like it calm and smooth. I appreciate the other as well and Im even able to enjoy it for a short time but it never touches me or fulfill me.

@Lexililac Yes, you sum it up perfectly! Peace and quiet for me, walks in nature, time with family.
When it comes to gemstones, beauty is on the eye of the beholder.
