Unless of course you talk me out of it ;) The vendor is having a sale and I'll find out the prices tonight/tomorrow for both of them but not on sale they are $950 all together.

0.35ct
Radiant shape
Fancy Light Yellow,
VS2 clarity.
Meas:4.21x 4.13x 2.55mm

I really love the color saturation in the corners on this one, it adds a lot of interest to it. I would bezel this in a either a low kt YW or argentium silver with a 6mm oxidized silver band.

0.25ct,
Fancy Yellowish Orange,
Kite shape,
SI3.
6.18 X 3.63 X 2.55

This color makes me happy :D plus the shape, masculine and sharp. I would bezel this N/S in argentium and have a 7.5mm argentium band.

So... Am I crazy?

:o I've had that orangey kite on my watch list for well over a year! I keep talking myself out of it. If you do buy it please, please, please post lots of pics!! :lickout:

I really like the orange kite stone. I agree, a happy color and very masculine lines. The little radiant is pretty too.

The little radiant isn't my cup of tea, a bit too light yellow for me, and not what I would consider a fancy yellow. However, I really like the orange kite. Is the top one graded in-house, IGI, GIA, or other? Not that it matters, it's really cheap, but you should know what you're getting. If it isn't graded fancy light yellow by the GIA, it probably isn't a fancy light yellow, and that might make a difference to you. Since the second one is SI3, I assume it's graded in-house or by IGI. Still, they're priced well.

I would pass on the first one too - the colour seems greyish and blah to me. But you love it and it seems to be priced right. Have fun!

I love the kite as well. The colour is pleasing and purer; the shape is very interesting. I can't wait to see it set.

First supporter for the radiant! I like it for its overall appearance and the higher clarity is certainly a ++

Thank you all. I have reservations of the radiant myself, but it deserves a chance to viewed IRL, a static photo as we all know doesn't always show off all the stone has to offer. That one would be for me anyways, so if I have to wait a bit to find a stone, that's ok by me.

I'm really excited that I found the kite. It's warm and interesting, and unless it's a dead stone it'll be a keeper. You can rest assured there will be lots and lots of photos

Brandy, Kind of glad you didn't buy ;) but, it gives me a good feeling that someone else on here had thought of buying it.

TL, both are graded in house. They use IGI for their cheaper stones that aren't graded and I'm guessing for their 20k stones they use GIA, didn't even look at those... maybe one day.

It sounds as though you are having fun with the project, and if it had been me, I would have done as you have and sacrificed budget for quality. This is for a couple of very important rings, which, unless you choose to upgrade at some point, you will both be wearing for the rest of your lives. I like the looks and shape of the kite: some interesting design possibilities there. Looking forward to what you think of the stones after you see them IRL.

My reservations about the kite is that the color looks a little zoned and I just couldn't figure out how to set it where it would be the centerpiece. Please buy it, put me out of my misery.

Brandy, You should be out of your misery. .. I bought it this morning :D

Putting the other stone on the back burner, after this ring is finished I'll work on mine :D

Sounds like a good plan to work on the orange first. Looking forward to updates on your project. :appl:

Congratulations.
Cool stones.

Can't wait to see your pics and I love kite shapes, and orange diamonds.
I think I'd like to buy 10 and superglue them onto my nails :Up_to_something:
Someone's got to think of new uses for diamonds. :cheeky:

Here we go again.
The pic on fancydiamonds.net looks more saturated.

On my monitor I opened both and took a screen capture.
Look how much stronger the pic looks on Leibish's website:

Hmm it must be a mac thing. The picture I posted was from my PC at home, and your screenshot from yours next to mine, I am on a PC at work and it doesn't look any different the one on pricescope.

Maybe this is what apple means by their ad slogan, "Think different."

I'm really loving the orange kite... So excited to see photos!

It’s clearly the kite for me as well; so did you get both? I think such an unusual cut and bold colour is really going to make a smashing center stone for a man’s ring.

:appl: I can hardly wait to see pics! Is it too soon to start the *I want pics* chant?

The radiant was put on hold. It would have been for me, but, I figured I can focus on his ring better (mentally and fiscally) if I waited. I'm on the look out for local jewelers that can bezel to my standards and will work in the materials I want. I'm also, wearily, thinking of an Etsy vendor, but that may be a last resort.

If you do go the Etsy route I can't recomment JKT enough. Her only downside would be the long wait. She's already booked up through the end of this year and not scheduling new projects again until October for work to begin next year. IMO she's worth the wait. Great value - everything she does is hand crafted and from scratch, workmanship - especially her bezels - are top notch, and she's an absolute doll. Please keep us posted!

As an orange junkie, my eyes were drawn to the orange kite right away. Better saturation, and the kite shape is masculine.

I can't wait to see pics of it!
