A couple years ago I got a 6mm OEC moissanite from Tianyu. I've always wanted one ever since Tianyu really got popular back in 2017. I've tried OECs from Starsgem and Mona, but I wasn't as keen on their OEC cut like Tianyu's. Their GH color OEC moissanite at the time was only $22.50! I'm guessing it might be a little less now, especially since they've really gotten popular with selling lab diamonds.

Replacing the other OEC moissanite I bought from Mona (another popular Chinese vendor):

I love this stone and still wear this necklace regularly! I love the small table and "plump" facets!
Because I loved this moissanite so much I knew I wanted to get a lab diamond OEC from them eventually, although I had read from others that getting OECs from Tianyu was a little difficult. They don't produce lab OECs very often and when they do, the quantities are limited. On a whim I reached out to my Tianyu sales rep to ask whether she had any OEC lab diamonds. I was hoping to get one that was at least 1.5 carats and near colorless (G-I). Unfortunately she did not have any near colorless but she did have an uncertified 1.69 D color OEC with VS2 clarity. It just arrived yesterday and I love it! Here it is next to my moissanite:

The double refraction of the moisssanite makes it hard to take a photo; this is actually the best photo I have of both the diamond and moissanite together from my other attempts.

I think I prefer the cut of the moissanite a little more because the table is smaller and the crown is slightly higher. But I think both are beautiful. I'm planning to get the lab diamond into a RHR.
As far as which one I prefer...I honestly like both for different reasons and purposes. I like the diamond for rings but for everything else I don't mind if it's a diamond or moissy. I love the pastel flashes that the OEC moissanite has, but I also like the crisp depth that the lab diamond provides. I would love to get some OEC moissy studs in the future but if Tianyu ever decided to make an OEC 5-stone ring in lab diamonds, I'd be all over it!
