Tiffany diamonds by the yard reset

I have a .40 Tiffany etoile ring (bought second hand if that matters). Could they resent into a DBTY necklace? Just had this thought and wondered if anyone has ever done this. Process etc. Thx!

Who is "they"? Are you referring to a jeweler? Yes, the .4 stone can be put in a DBTY necklace.

The thing you probably want to ensure...that the culet does not poke out past the bezel. If it does then the culet
will poke you in the chest.

I can't imagine that Tiffany's would do something like that. The type of alterations they do are minor, and are either sizing-related, or repairs, not melt a piece down and make a new piece for you.

Not the exact same scenario but I received a quote from them a few years ago to reset my diamond from my soli into a three stone ring. Doesn't hurt to reach out.

HI:

They reset my old diamond studs into newer nonthreaded settings and I asked at that time if they would reset my Etoile. They said they would. That was several years ago, so I don't know if their policy has changed.

I definitely have heard of them resetting diamonds, but whether are not there are conditions to do so, I do not know.

I would ask them! They have reset many pieces for me. I have had e-rings custom done by them (South Coast Plaza)...into special cut traps against my EC. I have had pendants re-set as well. I do know though that with the new ownership a lot has sadly changed.
