So I have been stalking this forum for at least 2 weeks and finally decided to join. I am trying to find the perfect ring for my girlfriend and I am soooo torn. I love the Tiffany Soleste but my budget stops me at half a carat. I don't want anything too small but I don't want to completely destroy my budget.

Do any of the engaged women here have pictures of their half a carat or less Tiffany Soleste?

Hi there, craigs. Good on you for looking for the perfect ring! I don't have the Soleste (I have a Tiffany & Co. emerald cut that's nearly .50ct), but I think it's GORGEOUS. Others may feel differently, but with that size, especially considering the double halo, I think it's a wonderful choice. Best of luck! :))

I don't have any pics sorry. But what's a half ct cost from tiffany? There are lots of places that make a similar setting.

specs directly from Tiffany:

.48 carats I/VS1 $7200.

And what places have similar looks. I am willing to even look at single halos. I just want a halo that has good finger coverage. Like the mid point between a cocktail ring and a small ring. if that makes sense.

Oh my golly!

Not to knock tiffany. They make beautiful things, but I just couldn't justify 7k and you can't get over a half ct! But my priorities arent yours. So ignore me I'd the tiffany name is what's important. But as you seem open to other ideas, and you want the most finger coverage, I'd open yourself up to other options too! :)

While you're looking for pics of the half ct, I might suggest making a thread in rocky talky. Ask for soleste copies. I know of a few nice ones. But I don't wanna post suggestions in your SMTB thread.

I agree with Niel about the "golly" -- my goodness that is high. So yes, if you and your girlfriend are good with potentially making a replica, I'm positive everyone here can help you in creating something stunning.

Yes, you'll do much better outside of Tiffany with your budget. Halo settings are plentiful and come in various price/quality ranges. I do recommend platinum for this kind of setting.

A good reasonably priced brand is Gabriel and Co.:

A step up is custom made by Engagement Rings Direct:

http://www.engagementringsdirect.com/engagement%20rings-tpid-2.html (around $3-4k)

Then the finest would be handforged by pave masters such as Victor Canera and Steven Kirsch (around $4-5k):

You should be able to do at least a .75-.80 diamond around $4k, leaving you $3k for the setting.

0.56 carat center stone Tiffany Soleste on 4.25 ring size. It has good finger coverage for me.

Here is another option from Yoni; you could call to see if he could help you pick out a center stone. I believe he has done asset and actual images of stones for other PSers.

This would leave you 5000 for the center stone
