Thank you! I will. It might be in a few months though. The vendor I purchased from had a gray spinel, a blue spinel that was quite a bit larger than mine and a couple of darker teal spinels. I'm sure he had others, but it was hard to focus after I saw the blue. What a lovely blue spinel! That color is divine! Please post more pics as soon as you set it so we can enjoy it with you.

Same effect when I saw my cobalt spinel mixed in a tray with other spinels and sapphires. Will you have it tested out of curiousity? I would take your spinel over the majority of cobalt spinels that lack that hauyne-like blue color. Nice find!
Thank you Bluegemz!Really beautiful blue! Gorgeous! I love blue spinels.
Thank you Catmom! Neither can I.I LOVE the color!! I can't wait to see it set.![]()
Thank you! Im so happy with it.Lovely spinels. The blue steals the show though. That is a rare blue color for spinel and is absolutely stunning.![]()
Thank you! It does get darker indoors, but not too dark. I took these photos in bright sunlight. I'm not sure what cobalt spinels are supposed to do in uv light, but this did not react, whereas my rubies glowed. I know that regular blue spinels aren't supposed to react, but not sure about cobalt. I only have the uv light left over from a time when I needed it to detect pet stains. I really need to buy a loupe, Chelsea filter, etc.I have never seen a true cobalt spinel in person but how could anything be MORE blue? This must be as good as it gets!

Thank you. I am very happy with it.UV reaction does not have to happen.
Even if the small round is a little darker etc. it is still a very nice sample to walk with, & still just on the possible side of perfection.
