we are marrying out of state (catholic ceremony) and the priest who is marrying us recommended that we go to our local parish and have that priest do our "paperwork". I think that means go through baptismal certificate, questionnaires or something.
we''ve just moved to the area and don''t know the priest well, but he''s meeting with us tonight.
my question is, should i make a donation for him helping us out? my father is making a donation to the priest marrying us of course, but now i''m wondering if i''ll be committing some faux pas if i don''t give this priest something tonight?

thanks..

that''s a tough call, and actually we have the same situation.
except, the priest doing our paperwork is at my home parish, so i already contribute monthly to the parish.

mmmm....i am not sure about tipping him personally, but you may want to make a contribution to the parish and write him a thank you note or something

interested what others will have to say....
