I know I''ve posted a few times about trying to find a ring which I would like. The fact is that I don''t intend on buying a ring for a long time, which can be good I suppose. I will save my money if I can and get one high quality ring in the future; I don''t want to collect these gemstones (although it would be a nice but dangerously expensive hobby), I just want to get a really good ring. I will probably have numerous posts to try and get the best stone, best cut and such.

Sorry about the introduction, just wanted to tell people in advance.

Anyway, the first major decision is that I was wondering whether or not I should (in the future) get a ring made of titanium or white gold. I would most likely wear the ring all the time, but I do want it to be quite noticeable. I''ll give you a picture of the kind of rings (titanium or white gold) that I would be thinking of getting.

White Gold: http://www.jewelsforme.com/main.asp?Category=RINGS&Shape=0&PriceCheck=0&Subcategory=Mens%20Rings&CU=&Ad=&metal=w&page=1&month=11

I would appreciate your input and if you have any personal opinions on the rings on those websites, feel free to post.

I don''t know the shops...

Looking for the style, you might find the pieces posted by Boonerings, Titaniumcommitment and Jewelsmiths appealing.

Especially if you have time on your hands, there''s allot to see.

Among the jewelery designers posting on PS try Platinumsmith and Mark Morell (at mwmjewelry.com).

Ti and white gold are really different matters. The only thing they have in common (IMO) is that they are white & not platinum! Otherwise, it''s hard to find the likeness. My pick would be Ti over YG because of its lightness and durability. YG will become yellowish once the rhodium plating wears out (judging from themany reports here - also this might not be the case with all kinds of white gold). Besides, tension settings definitely do better in Ti, if that ends up being your choice.
