TL, it became so hard...

OK, I have looked at several websites selling chrysoberyl. Some of the stones are nice, but each time I would ask myself the same question, "would TL like it? Would it match her sneakers?" And each time, the answer is, no-o... Either I have to trim my expectations or end up without chrysoberyl...

I am not TL, but.... patience, grasshoppa, patience...it will come.

Yes, indeed. It will come. I’ve also been looking for a chrysoberyl that pops like hers and as luck has it, I managed to find it after weeks of searching. My plan is to hold off creating a new thread until PS2 is up and running but at the rate the upgrade is going, it might be 2011 before that happens. Chrysoberyls are aplenty but large ones with no brown or gray aren’t.

Sometimes I get this strange idea - everyone is getting more open these days, knowing that it will be deleted, people post their pictures, share their intimate opinions, and things become more and more open...and then PS2 doesn''t work! And all of it stays here...

Have you looked at the Jeff White chrysoberyl? Link He has two on his site. The big green would make for a stunning ring. Unfortunately, the yellow round does not live up to the TL test. Link

Oh, I was thinking of another pair...definitely not from Tan. Tan has a couple of negatives on the Toolhaus, but all of them are about items being shipped too late or to a different address...nothing about items being misrepresented or fake. Than guy had a lot of fakes...

The larger rectangular chrysoberyl is definitely the nicer of the two but look at the price....

While admiring the JW 3.5 ct chrysoberyl, I noticed the description of the yellow shift as straw yellow. Maybe it’s just me but I equate straw yellow to being slightly brownish yellow. I hope that I’m wrong though and this question should best be addressed directly to Jeff if you are considering the chrysoberyl. I’m going to be bad by tempting you with a picture of my new 3.7 ct yellowish green trilliant chrysobeyl. It is a colour shifter from greenish yellow indoors to yellowish green outdoors. I wanted to wait until PS2 is up but couldn’t wait any longer.

I still only have the one spessartite! I do have two crystals, but they were gifts.

Ooh, I doubt it, your spess is a stone of true beauty, like so many of your gems.

TL, I just thought, we all have to be careful when we talk about stones here. Remember Tiffany - he pushed Tanzanites on the market, and the prices have gone up and stay incredibly high! Now all good pieces have been bought by PS-ers, and I am afraid the prices for chrysoberyl will skyrocket, too! You are slowly becoming our new Tiffany!

I am just laughing - but I can not find a sliver of chrysoberyl anywhere now!
