Hi everyone
I have round diamond stud earrings, and I’m in the market for a pendant necklace.
Is there a hard & fast rule where I now have to stick to a round diamond pendant?
Or would it look okay if I chose a different shaped pendant, such as emerald or oval?
Keen to hear everyone’s thoughts as to whether there’s an unwritten rule that I’m currently unaware of!
Much appreciated :)

I personally dislike matchy matchy for jewellery.

Besides, a single solitaire round pendant less than 5ct would disappear on my chunky short neck (I wear a 5ct heart Moissy pendant regularly nowadays for the dress down days).

If I were to wear a pair of white pearl studs, then I don't wear white pearls around my neck, etc. etc...

However, each to their own - wear what you fancy to make you feel good I'd say.

DK :))

There are no rules about it. Buy and wear what most appeals to you!!

Yes. This. If you like matching then it’s ok to match. If you prefer not to match don’t. Do what pleases you and you alone. IMO

To me round diamond studs and a round solitaire pendant are SO classic that they don't strike me as matchy-matchy, even though they technically match. But, I agree with the opinions above, wear what makes you happy.

I think a different shape for a pendant may be nice to compliment your round brilliant diamond studs. I am personally looking for a Pear or Marquise for a pendant to wear with my RB studs. The shape is different enough from a round but the light return is similar if that makes sense. Look forward to seeing what direction you go!

I love matches! Not like a full parure. But matching / alignment with my pieces of jewellery are a big thing for me.
