This is the "Paraiba" teal tourmaline I bought on E-Bay. (https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/what-do-you-think-of-this.142582/)

I''m so torn. It has more inclusions than I thought it would be, but it does bring you back to knowing "hey, this was an actual crystal, mined from the Earth and turned into this."

The color is nice, a dark teal, emphasis on dark. It was only $19.99.

With the cost of return shipping, it may not be worth it to ship it back for a refund.

A close up of the inclusions, they''re really the only sparkle that comes from the stone. I don''t know how clear you can see, but there are needle inclusions running from the Southwest to the Northeast just below the most noticeable inclusions.

I''ve never returned anything with the seller, but they did say the policy is to refund the shipping costs. I like the stone, I don''t know if I love the stone. It''s not like any other stone I have and it has a certain je ne sais quo about it that makes the decision so hard.

some like inclusions. its not expensive. its certainly not a stone, imo, worth setting but if you enjoy looking at it then KEEP IT and look at it.

ps most of us have "learner" stones that we purchased as we were developing our ''eye".

I like movie zombie`s response - I agree!

Ditto, but that's a classic example of someone trying to make $$$ off of a marketing name, in this case "paraiba." Don't fall for those practices. It has a heavy grey mask, and it dark, but for $20, I'd keep it.

For the money you paid I would keep it.

I agree it''s not worth returning, so I''d just enjoy it. And if you find yourself not liking it anymore one day, you''ll probably find some niece or a friend''s daughter who''ll think it''s so nice and sparkly

I''d keep it if I liked the color. Have not seen it in real life.

One PSer had a jar/dish of gems that she looked thru just to get happy! Maybe this is the beginning of your gem dish?

If you like the color/find the gem interesting then keep it.

That''s all I really do with them, lol! I occasionally have a piece made for my mom, but that''s about it. I don''t wear jewelry at all really. If I could find someone who could make a men''s ring with some of my stones that doesn''t make me look like I''m wearing my grandfather''s ring or trying to be part of the "Family," I''d definitely have something made.

I can''t tell you how much that made me laugh! I agree with you that there''s (unfortunately) an art to making a great man''s ring and not letting it tip over into carnival territory!
