tonight...is not the night

ahhhhhhh. at least i need to keep repeating that.

okay, tonight, D and i are going to a hotel (jacuzzi & king bed bla bla bla), why? because it''s my bday tomorrow! he made all the plans, and got me something fantastic (i dunno what yet!). - the hotel should have been a surprise, but he isn''t that good with surprises.


i know all of us say "i dont want to get engaged on my bday", and i typically fall under that category as well.
here''s the thing.
last year, D completely completely "messed" up on my bday, he just didn''t live up to himself! (he got me a card. ps i hate cards. lol). and that was it. i typically DONT need anything expensive, but i had clarified THIS bday mattered.
he felt bad, and tried to make it up, but ultimately he was like WAIT till next year, you''ll see.

ALSO i''ve said early in the relationship, my dream proposal would be where he brough me for our 1 year ann. (the hotel were going to with the jacuzzi next to the bed etc with breakfast!)

so, yanno, i kinda just WISH this would be it.
will it? nah. probably not... because he bought me another piece of jewelry for my bday (which is completely GREAT!!!- i dunno what yet tho! lol), it just worries me that i migth have a little bit of hope, and i know i shouldn''t and i don''t want MY stupid "wants" to ruin something he''s put tons of effort into, and money, and whatever else.

so, as much as i hate bday proposal, this "situation" would be perfect. but it won''t happen, and before we leave tonight (well later this afternoon) i NEED to grasp that it wont, so i dont feel sad.

i even asked last night, (not very discrete either)... and i was like whatever you bought me, that''s my present right? (he didnt get it) he was like yeah..
and i was just like OKAY. i just DONT want to get my hopes up for something that won''t happen and ruin the evening.. (he understood, and kissed me on the head)..

ah. just happen already, i want to start planning FOR the wedding.. (and be able to talk about it without ppl thinking im crazy! )

k. tonight will be great, and after a looooong week at work... IT WILL BE GREAT. (no i dont NEED to convince myself, but i neeeeeed to get any bling out of my head or it might turn bad)

I don''t why some people are so anti-birthday proposal. My DH propesed the night before my b-day which was great for several reasons 1. I had no clue, 2, I had already planned a mani/pedi on my bday as a gift to myself--well he had gone to my place and gotten me a gift card as my actual present--perfect timing, and 3. I had planned a get together with all my friends on my b-day so it was easy to show them all the ring and tell them the story at the same time.

and i think it would just be so special...!

but, i am almost 99% it won''t be for my bday.. and that lonely little 1% kind of stands alone..

and IF i thought he''d be doing it, this is how i think he would be doing it,

okaaaaaaaaaay!
so it didn''t happen, but that''s okay!
he had originally gotten me a really expensive white gold bangle. it was beautiful. like.. jaw dropping.. but unfotunately, I knew I would not wear it... and I feared bending it, or whatever.
BUT it was beautiful.
He did not hesitate to bring me right back to the jewelery store... he felt that if I had bought him something he wouldn''t wear/or liked, he''d want to bring it back.
BUT I did emphasize at how well he had done! (he chose the bracelet because i have a TON of rings & pendants!) lol.
so we went, took me AGES to pick something,
but I ended up with a pink tourmaline (my birthstone is pink or opal... and I wanted something pink!)
its a trillion shape, with a row of diamonds... its beautiful..
I haven''t fell in love with it yet, but I DO love it.

AND its the only piece we BOTH agreed with..ahhaha.
I''ll try and get pics sooN!
ps. the evening was beautiful! we went to a great restaurant and didn''t hold back on anything! it was fuN!
