First, let me say that I do love the weighty feel of platinum. That''s what I got because I did not want the maintenance of rhodium plating white gold. But, I will say that my set is quite weighty, and it does sometimes annoy me when I''m trying to type at the computer. I have to take my rings off for that. Luckily I work from my house, so I can just take them off and put them in a little holder to stare at while I work -- heehee.
My engagement ring alone weighs 15.54 grams!!!! The wedding ring is only 4 grams, so I can leave that on. Together they weigh nearly 20 grams so you can see why that would get annoying. My husband jokes that the muscle in my left arm is getting bigger.
The weights I posted were straight from my appraisal too. My wedding ring is an eternity band and only weighs 4 grams. It is very light and comfortable. It my e-ring that is the heavy one. Then when I put the 2 together, it comes to the 19.54 grams total.Date: 11/1/2005 2:11:09 AM

I was just thinking about this same question recently but as it applies to eternity bands. My wedding ring set weighs 14.5 grams (I just realized my appraisal doc by Nancy Stacy says both my e-ring & wedding band weigh 14.5 grams and I don''t think that''s right. I''ve been looking at getting an eternity band to wear on the days where I don''t feel like wearing my wedding set - i.e. days when I''ll be going to the gym or going someplace where I want to be a little understated when it comes to my wedding ring. So what''s the average weight for eternity bands ... I would think they would be fairly light but thought I would ask folks.
Thx!
