So I came across an eBay listing of a Ceylon sapphire WG ring along with some totally unrelated pendant. They wouldn’t separate the two or allow returns. And the seller didn’t look like they had ever sold jewelry before. But it did come with an appraisal from someone GIA certified (both the ring and pendant were on the appraisal sheet). I loved the ring - color of stone and setting. I figured if the stone was fake the setting alone would be worth a lot more. And the pendant was pretty much getting thrown in and could always sell it for scrap gold. So I put in an offer, they accepted and I crossed my fingers.
Just got it back from a cleaning at my jeweler and it is just so gorgeous. He says it’s definitely a natural sapphire with heat treatment and he would call it a Ceylon
It’s a gorgeous bluish/periwinkle color. Definitely some violet underatones. Cut could be better but not bad and the color makes up for it. The setting is amazing - substantial with gorgeous diamonds. Definitely more blingy than what I normally wear but I think I can definitely get used to it!!
Thank you for letting me share!
