Hi everyone! I'm #5 and I've been on PS for quite some time now. I just wanted to check in with my fellow top-of-the-list LIW ladies and see how you're all doing. Feel free to fill in my quick update survey below!

USER NAME: News_Girl

TIME ON PRICESCOPE: 1.5 years

LIW STATUS: Dating, 2.5 years

OCCUPATION: News producer. I'm also starting grad school this fall for public administration/affairs.

BF/DF STATUS: He's a military officer and just reported to a permanent land job, yay!

GOALS FOR THE YEAR: Non-LIW related: Excel at grad school, learn how to budget my money wisely, and continue kicking butt at work. LIW related: We've agreed that we plan to be engaged by the end of the year, so my goal is to enjoy my last few months as a girlfriend

UPDATES: We've been living together for two years and plan to move into a single family home next month, which will be an upgrade from our current town house situation. We leave on a vacation to Hawaii next Friday and I'm looking forward to sippin' mai tais on the beach and snorkeling in Hanuama Bay. We own two dogs, a Sheltie and a Dachshund, and they pretty much take up ALL our free time <3

LIW STATUS: Dating, 2 years, 8 months(we''ve been living together for 1 year 2 months)

OCCUPATION: Planning Coordinator at a civil engineering firm (not the best place for employment during the housing market decline and lack development in general).

BF STATUS: He works for Pepsi.
GOALS FOR THE YEAR: Non-LIW related: Find a career I can be passionate about. LIW related: To chill out, and enjoy our relationship without putting BF in the pressure cooker.

UPDATES: Well he purchased the ring about two months ago, its just a matter of when and if he gives it to me. I thought for sure he would give it to me back in July for my b-day, but no such luck, instead I got two kittens, Guiseppe (a tuxedo cat) and Chip (an orange striped Hemingway cat) who are such cuties!

@ goodfun7580: Hey cats aren''t too bad of a consolation prize while you wait for the big proposal But I can definitely understand if you feel antsy and/or impatient because WOW if I knew he had the ring already I''d be so nervous!

@ katamari: Congrats on having your stone! I really hope you come home from Europe engaged, because that will be one heck of a story!!

TIME ON PRICESCOPE: about a year, a few more months if you count all the lurking I did before I signed up.


LIW STATUS: We've been dating about 3.5 years (a bit over) but until last month, it's all been some degree of long distance. First two and a half years were with me in the US and him in the UK, and this past year (while I was at grad school) we were both in the UK but still 200 miles apart. We're moving into a flat together (which will hopefully become official by Wednesday!!) this month and it will be the start of us REALLY living together (we have been for the past month since grad school ended, but with J's parents to save up money for the move--we're in England and my family is in the US, otherwise I probably would've stayed with my folks).


OCCUPATION: Teacher at a special needs school in NW London.


BF/DF STATUS: He's just wrapping up his work here with his parents' business and will be getting a job as soon as we move in to bring in some extra money. While he works that, he'll be searching for a more career-type job in office work or possibly as a librarian.


GOALS FOR THE YEAR: Love my new job!!

Make our new apartment feel like a home (I've been brainstorming to think of what colours to paint the walls

). Hopefully get back to visit my friends and family around Christmas (a good friend is getting married Dec. 20th and I'd love to be there for it!), but otherwise live my life and talk with J about where we want to live/work next year. Assuming all goes well with us, we'll either be engaged or married by the end of the school year, depending on where we decide to settle and what family can travel and stuff.


UPDATES: I think I've basically covered these already. Just making preparations to move. J's family is throwing a party for us the day before we go!! Should be fun!!!

And, if I got an engagement kitty with the package, I would be over the moon! Of course with 2 people and 2 cats in our current apartment, SO claims we are at MCC (mammal carrying capacity).

Yay, Gwen! You finished your thesis! You and J are finally living together! And, you got a job that you wanted! Sounds like this year will have to be one heck of a year to top the last!

Hello Ladies! I can''t believe I am #7! Time has flown by. I don''t post that much but I do check how everyone is doing daily.

TIME ON PRICESCOPE: A little over a year

LIW STATUS: Dating 3 years this past Friday!

(I will have to post a thread about the big Anniversary event that I was trying to figure out last month!)

OCCUPATION: I work in Law Enforcement. I recently changed occupations in my agency when I moved to a different part of the state... and I quickly realized that this field isn''t the right one for me. I''m looking forward to an opening to arise in my previous field. (I would have never thought I would not enjoy this field! I always thought I would enjoy it. I am glad that I got this opportunity to find out without being stuck)

BF/DF STATUS: He is a Regional Operations Manager for a major battery company.

GOALS FOR THE YEAR: Non-LIW related: Get back into Investigations, Start getting all of our ducks in a row to start looking at purchasing a house, Make friends in our new town, and get back into shape! LIW related: Enjoy this time in our lives. We almost have everything "set up" the way we want it so the engagement will be coming next! My goal is to not think about a wedding until that time comes. I want to enjoy this time to the fullest. Also, we wont be purchasing a house until a wedding date is on the horizon, so I am trying to focus on other things until that time comes.

UPDATES: We''ve been living together for the past two years and have moved all over Florida together. We are enjoying being closer to our families and being back in North Florida. He is loving his job although it is very challenging, and even though I am NOT enjoying my job I am focusing on the positives. (most days, haha) Let''s see, We have started to look at rings in person! (before it was only online ideas) He knows exactly what I like so I am excited to see what he does with it. I know an engagement will not occur in the next three months (he told me he just doesn''t have the money yet) but I''m expecting it to happen before our lease is up this year! We are excited and are looking forward to it! I think I actually might make it to #1 on the list before I get engaged! haha

GOALS FOR THE YEAR: Non-LIW related: go back to school and get my MBA, learn how to budget my money wisely, and continue to get my fat rear end in shape, lose some weight and look great...

LIW related: To be engaged by the end of the year. I have a feeling that it will not happen until next summer. Its hard to have a man who is divorced to want to go down that road again. However, I am also having a great time with my new step kids and dealing with ther BM (no easy feat btw)

Ahh...other than that....STILL WAITING!!!
