Both stones are GIA certified triple-X from 2020. I'm going for a solitary diamond design in plain platinum, hence colorless (D & F). The stone has to speak for itself in this setup.

0.6ct has HCA score of 1.5, AGS0 (all excellent, spread v.good, "average size" look)
0.62ct has HCA score of 0.9, AGS0, also all excellent with v.good spread and "big size" look.

I understand that the larger of 2 will appear wider (it's cut more on the shallow side right?), here I'm worried about 14.5% CH and how much fire it'll exhibit.
This one is priced at roughly ~16% premium in comparison to avg. diamond with identical specs (4C) at this retailer. Also, it's priced at ~6.6% more than the smaller 0.6ct one.

The smaller looks perfect on paper, however the depth of 62.5% is questionable, also D is maybe too much? It's roughly 11% more expensive than avg. identical 4C stone at this retailer.

Are they on hold somewhere? Can you provide the links?

IMO...VVS2 is quite high for this size stone.

I considered some VS1/2 stones with similar cut specs, but after requesting their availability it turned out only these are available r.n., so it is what is. I'm willing to pay extra $$ for a colorless VVS2, so that isn't a problem. Cut quality is my only concern here..

I really don't think you will be able to see the difference in size so I would just pick the one that you like the best. I prefer the smaller one because of the taller crown and smaller table and yes I agree, I am not crazy about the depth. Good thing is, it doesn't make that much of a difference on face up size compared to the other stone.

I prefer the second one at least on paper.

I don’t care for “spreadier” stones so I would select #1 in this case.
