I am a frequent lurker and much less frequent poster! But I am quite excited about the transformation of my engagement ring from something a bit ordinary to something amazing and I thought I would share the making of my ring with the Pricescope community!
The story - so we had my engagement ring made a couple of years ago now. It was not exactly what I wanted, but it was all we could afford at the time as we were both students. Here is a link to my original engagement ring: https://www.pricescope.com/community/search/
I have only been wearing the ring a little over a year (engaged September 2012, married March 2013) and something about it still bothered me, although I wasn't sure what I wanted the ring to look like until I found this picture:
This then led me on the journey to finding a suitable jeweller who hand makes jeweller and is located in Australia, which was not an easy task. I went to a jeweller in Perth and there design drawings were amazing! Their previous work is amazing, but they were crazy expensive and their rings with any sort of pave where a little ordinary and I was not convinced they would get it right. This led me to lots of googling and I stumbled across a jeweller by the name of AE Jewellery Design in Sydney. Got a quote, which was half of the jewellery in Perth and their pave work looked to be of a reasonable standard and I decided to give them a shot.
Fast forward to now and my ring is in the process of being transformed into something amazing! The jeweller sends my photo updates via text message and I am going to share these with you.
First up, the halos cut out with the diamonds
The diamonds in the halo cut outs
Halo pieces joined together plus the shank
