Hi All
Just wondering how many of you have travelled to foreign countries and what your thoughts are about those countries.
I''ve travelled to both southern China (1990) and the US (2000) and loved them both.
I was reluctant to go to China at first because I was visiting peasant villages - but am glad I did make the trip. The people were so friendly and welcoming and it made me really appreciate my life in Australia.
As for the US - what can I say? Visited both San Fran and New York. I found S.F. very much like my home town Melbourne (Australia). New York was a real buzz. The New Yorkers found me to be a novelty because they had never seen an Asian person with an Aussie accent (I guess they''re used to Asians with Amercian accents instead). Did all the usual touristy things - catching cable cars in San Fran and going to the Wharf. In NY went to the Met Museum (lurved it!), went up the Empire State Building, went to Wall Street and so on. The only problem was that when I went, our $ only equalled US $0.60 so nearly everything was double the price of what we pay at home.
Would love to go back to those two countries for another visit, but have so many others that I want to visit first.
