Hey Everyone!
I''ve been lurking for a long time now, and I''ve finally decided to speak up! My BF and I have recently started talking about rings (yay!) and I''ve been try to find settings I like. I want to go try some on to get a "real life" view of how they look, but...my ring size is an 8.5! So, I wanted to know if places had rings that big to try on? I know the standard size is like a 6 and those would never fit. So, any advice as to how to try real ones on at a store? Also, what styles would help make my fingers look smaller. (I''m a small girl, but my fingers just seem to be big!)

any help would me greatly appreciated!

If you have a few ideas of settings you want to see on your finger, I would call around to a few stores and find out if they have any of the same or similar styles in your size. Most stores can get different stones, settings and sizes sent over to them for you to look at and try on.

As long as you call ahead and make appointments with different stores or vendors, you can let them know your size and they should be able to bring in product for you to try out (hopefully!).

Best of luck on your ring hunt!!!!!

I would advise you to try on bands that are not too narrow. A lot of people choose them so that the stone seems bigger, which is usually true. But if you have a bigger ring size/fingers I think that a narrow band would make them look "even bigger" than what they are. Sort of like wearing very tight pants when your legs are big. That will NOT make them look smaller!!

YAY! Ring shopping is so fun! LOL I just went and tried some on over my lunch break for the first time. OMG!

I went to Shane Co. since they are nearby and I just wanted to see what it was like and have my ring finger sized. Turns out I''m about a 5 3/4 or a 6. Pretty much everything I looked at was that size or even smaller , but that''s just what they put in the cases I think I heard them saying they have other sizes "in back." So yes call a few places you think you want to go to and see if they will have them there for you to try one if you set an appointment I bet they will even pull them out for you.

Oh, and make sure you stay true to your "real" ring size. I have seen too many rings that are actually too small (which may happen over time) and make your fingers look like a small tied up sausage link.

How exciting, applewood!

Welcome to PS!

I have larger fingers as well and rarely have any luck finding "stock" settings to fit in my size, however, even with the smaller size settings, if I try them on I can get a decent idea of how it actually looks on my finger.

I recommend just going to local places in your area with a large selection and just having fun with it. Try on all the settings that are appealing to you and work from there. If you find a certain style looks better on your finger than others, then ask the sales associate to pull some more of those types of settings for you to try.

I''m sure that before you know it you will find your

setting!

Good luck!
