The first is a Ceylon sapphire medium blue 1.43 carats unheated (SI quality) and the other is a 1.81 unheated dark blue sapphire (SI quality). Both stones were relatively inexpensive and I am aware that they are both of relative low quality. Thank you for your time! I have attached pictures of both stones above.

How much are you willing to spend? I ask because depending on the number you might be better to comb through loupetroop (maybe mineral miners and some of the ebay vendors too) first. For instance this one has a bit more promise (note photos taken next to contrasting backgrounds can be less accurate for colour, but it looks a lot better than the two above).

Ooh thank you so much for this link. I actually have already purchased them. :/ One was $61 and the other was $12. I would have loved a stone like the one you sent me but unfortunately that was way out of my price range. Just trying to decide if either stone is worth setting. :/

Oh sorry I read the pictures as vendor pics. I would look into whether either stone has calibrated dimensions (i.e. certain length×width ratios are standard sizes for settings). Then I would flick through the ebay setting vendors on the recommended vendor list to get a feeling for how much a setting will cost (add a little bit for the cost of having someone else actually put the stone in the setting and postage).

I like the colour of the second stone.

Thanks so much! Will do! I actually have a setter I work with, but I will browse through the eBay listings just in case. Thanks so much!

I prefer the color of the second one. Those are some lucky finds!

Me too! And thank you!

The bright medium blue one is way better.

Since you asked our opinion, I definitely prefer the sapphire on the bottom pic. Despite the SI clarity, I think it’s pretty.

I like the lighter / brighter blue one. I bet that would look so pretty in a ring.
Can't wait to see what you do with them. :mrgreen2:

+1 for the lighter blue. It's a whole lot sparklier!

Yup, I'm piling on to say the lighter blue one would be the one I set. Great prices.

Thank you everyone for your responses! :)
