Hi Judy, below is exactly what Gene put on the listing for the lab Emerald:

"This is a lab grown emerald. The stone is grown by the hydrotherm process and is identical to natural emerald except grown in the lab. These stones even grow with some inclusions which adds to the natural look. The camera can not capture the intense green color, much much much nicer in person. This crystal was grown in Russia and called "Columbian color." Measures 9.06 x 7.34 mm Emerald Cut.
Color: 10/10 Clarity: 9/10 Brilliance: 5/5 TQR: 9.7"

The lab emerald is definitely eye clean, and I would classify it as solid medium tone, nothing light about it in any environment. It does have a glow which I attribute to jardin. FWIW both of these stones are really gorgeous - great color, fantastic cut, wonderful proportions - but I already have 5 significant setting projects ahead of these and I just can't justify holding on to them when the likelihood is slim I'll get around to setting these pretties...
 
Ahhhhh I was going to get one custom cut by Gene this year!!! Wondering if it's too small for the setting I want, but I'm seriously considering it!

For what it’s worth, I have one of Gene’s emeralds and they are so, so gorgeous in person!
This one will make someone very happy. :love:

Side note: @marymm I can’t wait to see more on these setting projects you have going on. :mrgreen2:
 
The lab-grown Emerald is SOLD, luckily to a wonderful PSer who I am sure will post about what she does with this fab stone!

I have several people interested in the Madagascar Sapphire but as of this moment it is still available for purchase.

caf, I woke up to 4-5 emails about the Sapphire, and just finished replying to everyone. I am guessing your email was one of the ones I replied to, but IIRC none of the emails included reference to PS names...

Hahaha I agree! I wanted the emerald sooo bad but I really shouldn’t have as I am saving for another gem on the horizon! My wallet is grateful as well! Glad they sold quickly!

It was a bit hard to part with these two stones, but now that it is done, I feel okay about it - especially since I know the new owners will love them and give them good homes (and good settings)!
