The value depends on where in Mozambique the stones are from. There was a recent find of copper bearing tourmline in Moqambique that when heated turns neon. The AGTA has just approved the term Paraiba to represent all copper bearing tourmaline, not just the ones from the original find in Brazil. The BEST of the Mozambique copper bearing tourmaline is much better looking than the Nigieran and very close to the BEST of the original Brazilian stones. As in even Brazilian Paraiba Green is relatively in expensive but blue and green/blue is.Date: 5/25/2006 5:30:42 AM

Thanks for the info. My stones are blue green, I have several. They flash both a bluish green and a greenish blue. How much do they go for a carat? Is there somewhere I can read about these stones?
For stones in the 1-3 ct. range depending on the color and cutting I would think $100 to $150 / ct would be a reasonable wholesale price.Date: 5/25/2006 8:51:14 PM
